Dumb Question

Post by Bowlady1955 » January 8th, 2019, 1:20 pm

Ok, this may seem like a dumb question, but my sim is pregnant with her first child and she wants cookies, how do I get my sims to cook a specific item? She has cooking skill maxed but I have never figured out how to get my sims to cook specific items.

Would some of you longtime Simmers know how to do it?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Bowlady

If you click on the refrigerator or any cooking appliance that would be relevant (stove in this case, or possibly a food processor if she has one although those are not required), the options to make one serving or one complete platter of eight servings show up. From there, you are presented with a list of recipes that your sim already knows that pertain to the time of day it is for you to select from.

Cookies are a dessert so they would only show up on the dessert menus. They require Level 3 or higher of the Cooking skill and the recipe must be learned by obtaining and reading the written version of it from the bookstore -- not the cooking skill books, the actual recipes that are offered for sale there.

Mods can be used to change some of the ways this works such as the time of day requirement being waived or the recipe ingredients changed, if desired.

I never buy books from the book store, they're way too expensive. Through DE I click on the bookshelf and I stock my library with all skill books, toddler books and recipe books. I figure a library should have all books. So my sims have to go to the library and read what they need.

There are mods over at the Asylum that TFM made to open all recipes at anytime here http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/to ... r-22-2013/ . You do need to be registered there.
