Go To Work = Chilling Before Work Starts
Hi, I have a question about the 'Go To Work' action under Intermediate - Career. I haven't found a pattern yet, but a lot of times when I mouse-over her action icon (where it says Work Hard) it says 'Chilling before work starts'. The downside of this is that my sim making overtime doesn't get her anything on her performance bar. Is this some in game mechanic that MC can't help, or am I maybe doing something wrong? I really think that most jobs could do with at least a couple of extra shifts in a week, but this way it is absolutely pointless. Thanks a lot!

I believe you will need a mod such as Buzzler's Moar Interactions in order for sims to get paid for working and possibly progress in careers when it's outside of their regular work hours. The MC command is really meant to just bring them to their workplace/rabbithole and then have them do whatever comes "naturally" to them once they get there, which in turn will depend on what time and day it is.

They do in fact get paid. But if you want to reach the top of your career, getting paid is not all that matters. Do you perhaps also know of a mod that just does overtime? This one changes a bit too much imho. I like mods like nraas mc that you can use or not use but don't actually change the gameplay on their own. Sort of 'vanilla plus' if you know what I mean....

While Buzzler's mod does change the effect of some built-in player directed actions in addition to adding new ones, I don't find the changes to be all that jarring and in every case I can think of they have been improved (this is subjective, I mean to me it seems like they have each been improved).
Perhaps someone else here knows of a Work Overtime mod that properly does nothing but that.

Or at least nothing without player input triggering it.
