Too many bills for active household?

Up until recently , my main sim Sansa has been living in her two bedroom home with her son, his wife and his 5 children. Recently the son, his wife and 4 of the children moved next door leaving Sansa and one of her grandchildren in my active household. Previous to this, my bills were 1,300-1,500, and I found on 2 seperate occasions I received large amounts of money with no explanation. Note that Sansa's son's wife (who moved out with him) has the lucky personality trait and also that friends and close family of the household had recently died (which is what I originally suspected was causing the random cash income). The house Sansa's son moved into has much nicer furnitue, bigger rooms, etc. and the day after they moved out my active household with Sansa received a bill for 20k, then a few days later she received 5 bills totalling 23k. I checked the household accounting for both Sansa's household and her son's household and noticed that Sansa's son's household wasn't making enough to cover these expenses. The expenses were 20k and their income was only 591 simoleons. Is it that she's receiving the bills for her son's house nextdoor or other people in the neighbourhood perhaps?. I don't have the money progression mod, just the population and career mods.

Hi there.

Were the large amounts of incoming money with no explanation something along the lines of §98,000 or so? There is a bug in the game, not pertaining to the mods, whereby a car that the currently active household does not own gets sold and the active household gets the cash for the sale. It makes no sense, except we can see there is a car model in Build/Buy with that exact price tag when it does happen. I usually use MC's Family Funds to zap the extra windfall away when I notice this taking place. If the sudden cash had come from an inheritance, I believe the household Accounting report would have indicated it that way.

MasterController's Status function on the household (or MC > Household > Status if run on a sim) should tell you how much real property they own and what the expected property tax bills should be like at any given time.

The receiving five bills all at once am afraid I've never experienced, but it does sound like a game glitch of some kind. Has it happened more than once?

Hi!

I didn't see that Status option anywhere but the game seems to have 'fixed' itself and my bills went back to normal. It happened twice consecutively but as at the last time I played it had stopped. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back. Thanks so much for your help

That can also happen if a sim that owns a real expensive car that is visiting and the car is parked on the active lots car space when the bills arrive seen that happen when Morgana Wolff was visiting my sim just before the bills arrived in the mail that the value of the car got added to my sims bill even though he didn't own it same thing when he worked on an expensive rabbithole lot the value of the lot got added to his bill.
