Loss of family editing functions

Post by Silverwings » December 9th, 2018, 11:30 pm

I've been trying to copy my family into the bin, even with a house, before a town move, but I'm finding that I've lost all family editing functions in Edit Town, even those for split / merge of in-town families.

Wondering if it's one of the NRAAS mods that might be at play. I thought traveler at first, since its the last I put in and never really used (had needed it to fix a no-loading issue ) so I disabled it, but I still have nothing there. Screenshot included.

The thumbnail doesn't reflect this, but do you have more than 8 sims in this household? If so, the NRaas Mover mod is required to work with overstuffed households in that manner. Would that one be in play?

No, never got Mover. And this family has only 8 (they had up to 9, but I moved the 2 still living parents)
The functions are missing even in 3 people households.Image

Er, hmm. That's the screen Edit Town is supposed to give us when we ask it to select a different household to play. Not one from which we can edit households and do split/moves and saves to the bin. Does this happen if a different household is actually active with the game clock having run smoothly, you go to Edit Town, and just click on the one you are testing just above?

I really doubt that it's an NRaas mod interfering (unless one of the sims in your household of 8 is pregnant), but to check if you are still suspicious, a test run with all NRaas mods removed and the scriptCache.package file cleared would be required.

Well this is from change active household, but if I just go to edit town, clicking a house yields nothing at all rather than the expected editing options.

At a loss because I used to have no problems. Afraid that removing some mods now might break the save too.

As a test I did open a brand Sim in a different town, same mods loaded, and the options are there. It's ... strange. Curious as to whether anyone's seen this.

The point of removing mods to test something is to do so on a copy of one of your saved games to help determine if there is a conflict or if something unexpected is getting in the way. Not to do so on the actual save(s) you are intending to play forward. Sorry for not being clear, that's what I meant by a "test run," which itself doesn't need to be saved.

Of course you would want to put your mods back in play when ready to resume actual gameplay.

I'm still a little suspicous of the household of 8. If the game" thinks" there are still 9 or more sims there, that might be what is blocking things without Mover in play but this is only just a theory right now.
