Traveler question

The only mod stopping your Sims from traveling to the abyss. Did you end up there anyway? We'll try to help.

Traveler question

Post by kkaizer » November 28th, 2018, 11:19 am

i’m trying to replace isla paradiso which is one of my travel worlds. I have a sim moved from there and he has lots of sims in isla paradiso in relationship panel. Is it safe to remove .nhd file in my save and replace it with new isla paradiso .nhd file? What will happen to the sims in his relationship panel. I hope it doesnt not corrupt my save file....

Well, normally this is safe pending you have Overwatch and ErrorTrap installed... but that is for removing the nhd and not putting a new one of the same town in it's place. I'm not sure how the game will react if the same Sims exist in the new nhd but have no memory of your Sim. Backup your save and try it out. I know any Sims you put in the old Isla will be wiped from the relationship panel cleanly though, it's just the EA residents that might pose an issue. If nothing explodes into a pile of script errors then it was a success.

Hmm. Suppose anything is worth a try but I wouldn't be brave enough to do a removal and replacement quite that way. When an already played nhd file is replaced with another one of the same world within the same ongoing game, but the TravelDB file remains behind as it was, the ID numbers of the sims living in Isla P will shift around and suddenly your mother-in-law left behind in the old Isla Paradiso world will now be someone else and possibly not a human sim anymore (such as a cat). Maybe an intermediary step such as playing forward with no Isla P nhd file at all so the mods can clear the relationship debris first might help avoid unwanted data crossover?

Thank you chain and igazor! I did took intermediary steps and make sure previous relationships are removed and it seemed ok but i just don’t like the fact that theres a possibility of corruption so I just rolled back to the previous save... Thank you!
