Unexplained home inspection failures

Post by InsanityPrelude » November 25th, 2018, 6:38 pm

So over the first in-game week in this neighborhood, I've had a handful of SP notifications that various households failed their home inspection. When I check, though, there are enough beds for the occupants and nobody's pregnant so the number of cribs shouldn't matter; I disabled "Home Inspection: Career Objects" but it's still happening. Is there some other condition it checks for that I don't know about?

You may have it set to also be looking for pet beds or possibly not enough single beds or even wanting a double bed. I had that set by accident and if there's a married couple who can't sleep together it willl ask for a double bed if you have it set to search for double beds.  If you go to Nraas>MC>Household>Focus: Home Inspection (I think that's all the right steps) you can see what the reasons are. The game will actually give you a list and when you click on one it will focus on that house and tell you what is wrong. For me it's suddenly been because of either single or double beds and pet beds. IDK what I changed to make this happen because sims who are related will sleep together in a double bed, but I have also noticed that if a couple becomes estranged sometimes they will not move out, but ask for a single bed too.

Unexplained home inspection failures

I just turned the entire home inspection system off alotgether and use HomeOpener as a replacement though I'm now having to inspect the homes manually and prepare to add to the house or move the family if it looks like they're starting to outgrow their current home.

Although fun to play around with, I would not recommend the HomeOpener solution for worlds that have significantly more than around 10 households. It will tend to cause a pretty big drain on the game engine as the mod will keep all inactive households open, lot greeted, and the sims who live there always simulated. It's also a pain to remove as after the mod's removal, each residential lot will still need to be MC > Closed manually one at a time to undo the mod's effects.
