Stranger danger..? LOL

Post by JohnL83 » November 22nd, 2018, 8:22 pm

This isn't a big deal, but I had a toddler dropped off at my sim's daycare and since I didn't know the sim I was like, "Okay cool, someone new to the town and my daycare" (I set this town up from scratch so I know all the original 50+ sims I placed ) But when I checked out the toddler it was one of my created sim's toddler! I wasn't able to catch the adult to see who she was before she left and what her role may be, so I'm not sure what was going on.  So I checked the household to see if she'd moved in with the two dads and their toddler, but nope, still just the guys, their kid and cat.
So who was this and why would she be dropping off someone else's kid?  I've often had various sims from the same household drop off kids, but never a stranger. Perhaps she was a babysitter or nanny? But I don't have anything like that set up in my town to happen autonomously. Babies and toddlers just vanish "out of town" when the parents abandon them to do other things. So I'm not sure who this sim was.
I'm not concerned or anything, but it was strange.  On that note, since I've recently been playing around with Retuner, is there anything there that deals with what happens to other babies and toddlers in town when the parents leave?

Hi JohnL83--
I am not in game atm but there is a setting in MC where you can click on the sim and get a status.
I had a similar situation in my day care where two toddlers were dropped off.  They were absolutely adorable but not from the bin or any sim I created.  This went on for a couple of  sim days but I was unable to catch the sims who dropped them off.  I used MC to get a status as to who they were.  They were toddlers of Service Sims.  Most of the time no one picked them up.  The game just sent them back to where ever after 7PM.  I was able to track them down by using Tagger to tag them.  They were the children of the Ordenz family (generated by the game).  I ended up making the entire family playable.  Never saw such adorable toddlers generated by the game and the parents looked awesome also.

If someone does not come along soon poke around in MC for options that will lead you to the family.   I'm going in game later and will check back.

Thank you brappl but you've misunderstood my post. I know the toddler, her name is Gloria. She was one of my creations and lives with her two dads Matthew and Dean and a cat. The person I did not know was the sim who dropped her off. I am fully aware of the MC option to check who people are, I use this constantly, but the female sim was out the door before I was able to find out who she was and when the kid was picked up she was picked up by one of her dads, so I never saw her again.
Again, it was not a big deal, but it was odd since she has two dads at home and they have always dropped her off and picked her up before. I just thought it was strange.

These fathers are so busy that they can't even take their child to you. And that's why they asked a strange girl to do it. Who cares? There's no violence or kidnapping in the Sims. Next time, pause the game immediately. Finding a character on the move is pretty easy if you remember his appearance. Click on the road and open the options related to the sim, find desired sim in the list, and then move the camera to him(her).

LOL  As I stated it was not a huge deal, but I just thought it was odd. I was pretty busy taking care of 3 other toddlers who'd been dropped off and apparently not fed or changed yet. (so there is child abuse in the sims...especially when they opt to play with the cat or video games over caring for their kid)  I didn't think though about clicking the road, she was in the car just outside when I tried to stop her, but the car of course isn't clickable. I will remember to use the sidewalk next time. Thanks.

No worries, I was stuffed too! Went into a food coma in the middle of playing my sims yesterday evening and dozed off and woke up to one of my sims slapping the crap out of her husband. No idea what happened, but I'm assuming he flirted with someone in the park. :D

Sara_Darkees - dont' know if you read my other post regarding my vanished sim, but it was my Daycare lady! Poof! Gone without a trace! I blame the stranger who dropped off the neighbors kid! Kidnapped and wiped from existence, leaving 3 teens and two babies with no mama! Poor dears!

(so glad I had her back-up in the bin, I still don't know what really happened to her!)

Perhaps it was the very capricious children and she decided to run away from them. Two babies are lucky to have teenagers to live with them. Otherwise, the kids would have taken a social worker, and in the future the game could even remove them. However, before you use back-up in the bin, check the population. Sim can go missing for a while. And Overwatch doesn't return missing sims instantly.

You know, I did wait a couple of rounds for her to return via Overwatch, but nothing, (even restarting the game and waiting again) so all I can really think is that I accidently deleted her at some point. I just can't for the life of me remember doing any TA's though.
As for the twins and teens, they also have Dad so no social worker, but I ended up putting mom back from my bin.
