Hey I have a question.. How do you get the mods to work? This is smy first time ever doing anything with a mod. So far all I have done is downloaded one, made a mod folder, and packages inside the folder and then I put the downloaded mod in the package folder... Is this how I get mods to work? I don't see a post here for it.

I'm not sure where it is on the new site. To use any mods, though, you need to install the mod framework for TS3. That has all the necessary files and folders. Sounds like you are missing the Resource.cfg file.Shel008 wrote: ↑November 17th, 2018, 11:18 pmHey I have a question.. How do you get the mods to work? This is the file that comes with the no intro and no sparkles mods right? I downloaded that one but those mods didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled.... I wonder how I would find that. Thanks for responding so quickly.

Installation Questions (for Shel008)
Shel008 - Hi there. In the future if you could, please do not post your questions in the middle of an unrelated conversation. We would love to be able to help, but must ask that questions about a new and different topic (like needing assistance with something not already being discussed) get their own message thread like this one. All members here have the ability to start new message board posts.
It sounds like you got things started correctly with your setup, but something went a bit wrong along the way. The Framework download at the ModTheSims/simswiki link provided (it's really the same page) is exactly the correct one to use. The procedure is to download and save it elsewhere, unzip the downloaded file completely by right-clicking so that it is a separate folder called Mods, and then move that Mods folder and its contents into your TS3 user game folder in Documents.
However you do it, there should be three and only three things inside of Mods:
-- The Packages folder (this is where the mods go and includes the two sample mods mentioned, NoIntro and NoBuildSparkles already there)
-- The Overrides folder (remains empty unless a mod developer says otherwise)
-- The required Resource.cfg file
The setup should look exactly like the illustrations provided on the ModTheSims site offering the download, plus or minus some differences around the edges for different operating systems. The only remaining step is to clear (delete) the scriptCache.pacakge file from the same user game folder, it might be showing up as just scriptCache if you have extensions not showing, and start the game. Do the sample mods then get recognized and work? If not, there is no point in proceeding until we find out what else might be wrong because if those two mods don't work then probably none of them will.

So sorry about that. I am new at the forums and groups... So i think I have it. So I need to download the framework, then i need to extract the files in the framework and then store the framework somewhere else (I put it on my desktop) then put the mods and everything in it into the sims 3 right?

When you extract the one downloaded file, you will get one folder (called Mods) as a result with its contents already in place. Then take the entire Mods folder that has just been extracted and place it and its contents into your TS3 game folder all in one step.

You can delete the framework.zip file once you've extracted the contents. You don't need to keep the zip file for it to work.
