Changing Out of Formal at the Lounge

Post by SillySimmerGirl » October 26th, 2018, 3:23 am

So my Sim is on a date at the most expensive restaurant in town, the lights are dim, the pianist is playing, her date leans in for a kiss, and suddenly changes into his blue jeans.  Everyone else in the restaurant has changed into their everyday clothing as well.  I've noticed this happens quite frequently.  What causes this?

Is there any way to prevent Sims from changing out of their formal attire when at the lounges?  I'm already using Consort's Dress Code mod, but that has no effect on them changing.

Consort's mod is room specific. Is there a dress code "sign" set approriately in the room where these things are taking place?

I had something similar happen although not with formal wear at a venue. My sim was working at the chemistry set and suddenly the related work outfit got removed and he was back in his everyday outfit. It was around 10am in case there were any cleanups running.

@igazor, thanks for your reply.  Yes, the dress code sign is in the appropriate room and does work if the sim leaves the room and then returns.  However, the sign does not stop the outfit from changing.

It's as if the change is on a timer or something as it happens instantly to all Sims.  The Sims don't "twirl" into their outfit, it just switches instantly the way it does when you use master controller to switch an outfit.

I do use Nraas Dresser.  Could this be the culprit?  Maybe it's checking for invalid outfits or something, I don't know.  I've searched through the Dresser options and can't find anything that seems to be causing it.

The lot is designated as an Exclusive Lounge which EA automatically has assigned as a formalwear venue.

@arathea, in this case the change happened exactly at 8:00 PM Sim time.

I was wrong about the time.  I checked my notes and it happened at 7:00 PM Sim time.  It was actually a little after 8 PM real life time which is most likely how I got confused.  But then again, I get confused easily :)

Is it possible to edit our previous posts?

I think the posts have a timer for editing.

I don't use Dresser so that shouldn't be the cause.

Changing Out of Formal at the Lounge

I have to wonder if Dresser is set to rotate everyone through their outfits that 7pm sim time (not your own time, LOL) is in your game the time at which this is set to happen. I don't use Dresser so this is merely conjecture, but I think the way Consort's mod works is that the sims really only appear to be wearing the outfits it imposes upon them. As far as the game and Dresser are concerned, they are probably all still wearing Everyday and when it's time to rotate into their next outfit, the next one up in Everyday is what would be selected.

Looks like the settings would be on City Hall/in-game computers under NRaas > Dresser > Rotation if there is any validity to my theory.

I was finally able to test out the settings with Dresser last night.  In my settings, the Rotation of outfits was already Disabled for all Sims, however I did see the 7 o'clock time, but it was entered as 7 not 19.  This confused me a little because the choices for inputing the time use a 24 hour clock which would make that 7 AM rather than 7 PM.

Although I already had the Rotation set to false, I changed the time to 0 which I assumed would be midnight using the 24 hour clock.  Then I sent my Sim back to the Exclusive Lounge with her date.  It worked.  No one changed clothing at 7 PM.  It's not midnight in the game yet, but I'm tempted to make them stay just to see what happens.

I guess the question now is why does Dresser change the Sims outfits when the Rotation is set to False?
