Script Error

Post by JohnL83 » October 30th, 2018, 10:45 am

I just downloaded the World Adventures EP from Steam and I opened one of my games. At first everything was fine, but just a few minutes into game-play I started getting tons of Script Error messages! (62 by the time I quite without saving) I have not tried to do an adventure yet so I have not "used" the EP. Basically I just played as if it was a normal day. I'm not sure if it's connected, but I imagine that it is.  I tried seraching this site but I was not sure how or where to upload my script errors so the experts can view them.  Is there a particular place I should do this or do I put them here?  If so how do I go about this, I've never had to download one before since they are almost always fixed by the mods and I rarely have them.

PS I thought I would get a few extra furniture, clothes and hairstyles with this EP but I didn't notice anything new :-(  Do I need to play a destination first to have access to whatever items are new with this EP? Or is there nothing but the destinations themselves?

Script Error

For the ScriptError files, please zip them up into one file and upload that one zip file to a file hosting website (like Mediafire) or alternatively, use DropBox or Google Drive. Then copy and paste the link to that file here for us to access it. If you're not sure how to do this, just ask.

To see what items come with the EP, when in Build/Buy Mode, click on the Collection Folders icon. There should be one for World Adventures - it might be right down the bottom of the list though. That will show you the extra furniture items. For the clothes, in CAS you can filter by EP, using the asterisk (star) button after the Accessories button. Hairstyles work the same way too using the asterisk button. There are quite a few furniture items but not a lot of hair/clothing. You shouldn't need to play one of the destinations to see them as far as I know. :-)

Most (if not all) of the hairs that come with WA are "hat hairs" (which includes hairs with accessories) so don't forget to check out that section in CAS. (I know I sometimes forget to look through the hat hairs and instead stick to plain styles.)

I think I got this done correctly. I used Google Drive. I put several of the script errors from my last game into a zip folder then added that folder to Google Drive and clicked "share link" I have never used this or done this before so I hope this was correct, here is the link. If I have done anything incorrectly let me know becuase I'm a true newby at this and I have never even used Google Drive or knew about its existence until you just told me. Since I use G Chrome I figured it would be the easiest for me.

gcgrad - thanks for the info. I did notice that there were a few new hats and such. I also mostly use plain hairstyles, though I do like a  few of the longer hairstyles in the accessories section like the tie-back long hair or the braids. I wish the many hats and hair accessories would match more of the regular hair, which is why I almost never use most of them.
Speaking of hair, I found a few really nice hairstyles on TSR website that look really great. I know it's amazing, but I literally just figured out (after playing for a year now) how to get those hairstyles put into my game. LOL  I was truly naive about so much of this. I feel silly now but I was making it more complicated than it actually is. HAHA   :P

You did everything fine. The occasional Correction and Dereferencing logs are normal and nothing to worry about. The recurring broken Role Manager errors are a real issue, a pretty common one though, and that can be fixed if you add NRaas Register to your mods. Register takes over the management of your worlds' Role and Service Sims.

Note that players who have no mods (ErrorTrap in particular) would of course not get these error logs or the notifications firing, but would be left wondering why things are not working as expected with no clues given as to why.

Thanks Igazor, I got it added. Not playing tonight, but I will be back soon if there are any further issues...not that I needed to tell you that, it's not like I don't have a dozen threads here just since the move! LOL
