Master Controller CAS Apply Error

Post by Purplemint » March 11th, 2018, 6:36 pm

Hello,

So I recently started playing the Sims 3 again and installed all the updated versions of the various NRaas Mods I used to have. Before this I never had any issues with Master Control, but now I am.

So lately I've noticed that whenever I go to edit a Sim in MC, I make the desired changes to the Sim and then when I'm ready to save and exit out it tries to save the changes I've made but an error pops up before CAS exits out to the game again. It says "Master Controller Script Error Apply" and any changes I made to my Sim are not applied or saved and I can't seem to find a fix for this.... plz help? :)

Hi there, and welcome (back) to NRaas.

That's an error I've never seen before. It seems to be complaining about a particular outfit. We can see its hexadecimal code, but that doesn't right away tell us which outfit it is. If you use CC clothing and accessories, you might try a test run without them and see if you can get MC CAS changes to work. Also, are you using MC Integration? If not, does regular testingcheatsenabled CAS or Plan Outfit on a dresser work any differently (if you are using Integration, never mind this because they should all work the same).

Other than that, I think our developer will have to comment on that error further when he sees this thread to tell us what's going on there for sure.

Ah wait, I do have one further question/suggestion. You are on Patch 1.69, which means the "new" Launcher dictates which EP/SPs load each time on startup. Is it possible that you had an EP/SP in play prior and it got taken away from this ongoing game by it not being loaded up (showing up and selected) on the Packs and Stuff chooser screen? The game doesn't like it when packs used prior on an ongoing game are suddenly taken away.

The five packs you have in play now, I mean at the time of the error, are LN, Generations, Pets, SNL, and Seasons. No others.

I will try both of these and let you know how it goes. I think I'll give your last suggestion a try first though, since I did have all of my EP's loaded when I first started this particular game file, but decided to take one out recently.

Very odd error indicative that their outfits are toast. Is this every sim in the world or just certain one's?

Master Controller CAS Apply Error

Post by Imagimary » October 16th, 2018, 9:04 pm

Hi!

Just wanted to let you know that I also have this error in my game. I didn't take an EP/SP out. I do have a lot of CC clothes.

When this error occurs, it occurs on all sims no matter what I try to change. Can't make a sim fatter/fitter, darker/lighter, can't change the hairstyle or the clothes. The strange thing is that sometimes the error just stops happening without me knowing why, only to come back later and ruin 1 hour of work in CAS on a special sim (just my luck).

Hi there. It's kind of lost to history now, or is in temporary limbo as a result of our very recent move to this our new site, but the OP at the time submitted a script error log associated with MC that we were discussing. It's possible that you are seeing a different error or it has a different cause. If you have any script logs from when this happens that we can read and assist with, it might be helpful if you could zip them together, upload them to a third party file hosting site, and provide a link so we can access them. We intend to but don't yet have a functional upload mechanism for this site yet, that's still being worked on.

Thanks for the quick reply. From what I can read it's the same message we get, the "Master Controller Script Error Apply."

What I first said isn't correct. I notice that I can change the hair and the clothes (but I still get the error message) but I can't change the face structure, body type or skintone - the changes made won't apply to the sim. I have a bunch of the scriptlogs as I'm currently playing a stylist, lol.

I want to add that I'm an cc user (or abuser, I have a lot) and I also have a lot of mods. I hope it isn't some weird piece of cc that is causing this, because I have everything merged and going through all that... oof. Anyway, even if something like that it's the case it's always better than not knowing, because not being able to edit the pudding faces of the townies is getting a bit on my nerves. ;)

Master Controller CAS Apply Error

Post by Imagimary » October 25th, 2018, 5:58 am

I noticed that I missed a few scriptlogs sitting in my recycle bin. I don't really understand them, but one of them mentioned a sim in the world that also gave errors when I reseted the whole world. So I went to that sim and edited all her outfits (it was a game created sim), and to my surprise I didn't get the error when saving. Since then (this was yesterday evening) I hadn't had the apply error anymore. Maybe it is a coincidence, but I felt I had to share.

Master Controller CAS Apply Error

Post by igazor » October 25th, 2018, 8:20 pm

Imagimary - Sorry it took so long to get a response here, I had some issues decompressing the 7zs but that was on my end and it's all fixed now. And glad you made some progress.

I still don't know what was causing that error. But for future reference, I am afraid that any ongoing games that have or at any time had the Kinky mod running on them are not supportable here. It is incompatible and actually downright antagonistic towards many NRaas mods and presents far too many variables that tend to break games than we can account for as we are not the mod's developer. If you have any further issues with an ongoing games using NRaas mods that have never seen the KW mod, then please do start up a new thread.

Since the OP hasn't posted here in many months and there really isn't any way we can assist further right away, I'll just lock this one up for now. Thanks for understanding.
