Woohooer settings

Post by kimlupai » September 29th, 2018, 11:11 am

I've set up a game where I want to try to complete as many of the KS mini challenges as possible with one sim. As a part of that I've made the sim a KS professional.

My problem is I want the inactive sims to accept or reject my active sim's professional advances according to their traits/mood and I can't seem to find the right combination of settings. I've tested in a trial game, I've read the interactions page over and over but I just can't seem to get my head around the variables. Using the default settings my sim never seems to get rejected.

Basically what I want is for all the romance/woohoo interactions to be always available but for the inactive sims to be able to accept or reject as their traits/moods dictate.

I have all the woohooer modules, except for the Eiffel tower and I generally play with Woohooer linked to SP because I very rarely/never travel.

As an aside, if my sim gains the charisma skill, completes the charisma & KS mini challenges and eventually manages to buy lifetime rewards, will they be taken into account when the inactive decides to accept or reject?

Thank you for any help.

NRaas > Woohooer > Woohoo > Species:Human > Base Chance Scoring > (defaults are 25 and 50 for teens if teen woohoo is permitted), perhaps these need to be lowered?
(similar for NRaas > Woohooer > Risky and Try for Baby)

NRaas > Woohooer > Scoring > Use Trait Scoring> True
(same menu) > Trait Scoring for User Directed > True
(same menu) > Use Mood in scoring > True
(same menu) > Use EA Rule-Set for Woohoo > (if this is False and still not giving you the results you want with Trait Based Scorng, then try it on True or vice versa)

Some of this can appear to be more art than science depending on the town and the sims in question.

The things you list towards the end will help make your sims more attractive to others and, especially those that affect the KS Renown score, will add to the base chance and other factors in making the targets more interested in woohooing. Or less interested, some of the factors will pull in the other direction like the negative "challenges" such as Bike and Cheater.

Thank you igazor. I was going round an round in circles with this. I think I was getting confused because in the documentation the "trait scoring for user directed" says that it controls when user directed interactions are available between sims and I read that as the option to woohoo/risky woohoo/TFB would only show up when the inactive sims traits would make them likely to accept woohoo.

Oh, you're probably right about that one. But I would suggest getting the effect you want with Trait Scoring for User Directed on True first and then see what the impact is of changing that to False. Otherwise there are too many variables in play at the same time.

How do you do bi-sexual? I found the straight and gay but not sure what to put my settings on for either. Thanks

Woohooer settings

Bowlady1955 - Do you mean how do you see and adjust an existing sim's gender preference (orientation)? That's a function of MasterController because it's part of who a sim is. Woohooer dictates what sims do with whom they already are. Gosh, that sounds awfully philosophical...okay, Woohooer is a romance manager.

NRaas > MC > (Sim) > Intermediate > Gender Preference will reveal and allow you to change two scores for each sim, this is their interest in each gender. Using same gender/opposite gender in the following examples. (MC Cheats module required)

-500/500 This sim is attracted to the opposite gender and is thus straight.
500/-500 This sim is attracted to the same gender and is thus gay.
500/500 This sim is attracted to both genders and is thus bi.
-500/-500 This sim is attracted to neither gender and is thus asexual.

The magnitude of the numbers doesn't mean intensity of interest in romance, but rather how many positive and negative romantic experiences it would take to get them to "change their minds." Sexuality is more fluid in the sims' world. Unless you step with StoryProgression adjustments to encourage different starting points or manually change things using MC, when sims are first spawned into a world or when they age up to teens their gender pref scores become 0/0 (totally undecided) or -1/2 (very slightly straight). The game will tend to push them gently into opposite gender flirts if there is anyone around of the opposite gender they are attracted to, but it doesn't insist on it and at such low magnitudes most sims really can go either way.

Note that sims can behave contrary to their gender pref scores if the other sim is remarkably attractive to them and they can overcome the hefty attraction penalty that they would suffer from being the "wrong" gender.

Is this the kind of explanation you were after or have I missed the mark?

Woohooer settings

I probably should have worded that a little differently, I am trying for a poly household, I saw it mentioned once but can't  seem to track it down or find a setting for it in the mods, i've checked the MC, Descensor, and Woohoo categories, is it listed somewhere else?

Thanks igazor and yes basically you did answer my question, I was rewording my question when you responded.

Woohooer settings

Ah, wait a minute then.

Bisexual means attraction to both genders. Polyamorous means having more than one partner or a relationship that consists of more than two. It doesn't matter what the genders are. Poylamory doesn't work in TS3. There is a setting for something like that in the mods but it really doesn't do anything, I think one of the patches may have broken it. That's NRaas > Woohooer > Woohoo > Polyamorous Woohoo Jealousy. Someone can correct me if I've got that twisted around.

There are only two ways we (I) know of to arrange this.

One is to keep the sims in question at Romantic Interests but nothing higher (no Steadies, Fiances, Spouses) and apply the No Jealousy LTR liberally (WA) so feelings don't get hurt. Officially the sims' reputations will still tank, although just amongst themselves they may not care much. The issue is that the game only has one field to define a sim's partner and it can't handle more than one sim having that honor at a time. There are some goofy in-game ways to get more than one partner (Steady or higher) involving the Relationship Transmogrophier (social networking/Uni), elixirs and spells (SNL), and I think something about photo booth interactions and proms (GEN), but those multiple partner relationships never stay stable.

The other way is to allow sims to have multiple partners provided the different partners each live in foreign worlds and are never in the same world at the same time -- what happens in France (Egypt, China, Traveler worlds) stays there because the partner field mentioned is at least world-specific.

If other players have found a better way to work through this kind of thing, they should perhaps make it known to us how they've managed that.  :)

Hey igazor,  just wanted to give you an update, It took me all of today to figure out how to get it the way I wanted (still haven't been to bed yet going on 36 hours now...,,LOL i'm so addicted to this game and the mods make the addiction worse....LOL but I'm not complaining. but I now have what I would consider a poly relationship family, I also went in the CAS(?) prompts and shut off the going steady, marriage relationships to make sure that I didn't have any conflicts. So far it's working well but I have only actually played this particular game for about an hour after I got everything set up. So thanks for all the help and I'm looking forward to playing this particular family to see where it takes me.
I only have them set up as housemates, no marriages, going steady, partners or engagements, so like I said we will see how it goes. :)

Cheers
Bowlady
