MC Script Error

Post by littlelambsy » October 20th, 2018, 11:17 pm

I wasn't sure how to upload script errors so I've zipped them with an image of a long onscreen/ingame notification. Something is giving me a major script error. The zip file can be downloaded from my mediafire.

The script upload mechanism on this site is not functional yet. Zipped copies of script logs sent up to third party hosting sites like that are fine for now. I didn't get a screenshot though, only the script error and it's not about MasterController even if MC was somehow the trigger or possibly two different things were happening at once.

You have a sim somewhere, probably but not necessarily in the active household, who is cleaning the house. Thus I think this must be coming from Buzzler's Housecleaning for All mod. There is a pile of wet laundry that either doesn't really exist or is an impossible location and the mod is choking on that item. I would look for such an object with MC > Object Stats > Non-Inventory on the lot menu and select to Flush it. Doesn't matter if it's under a floorboard or stuck in a broken washing machine or something, that would hardly be something one needs to hold onto.

MC Script Error

Thanks igazor, that's very interesting, considering I'm still setting up Riverview. I'm at the stage of adding residential lots and only have one test sim in game. She's not cleaning house, she's standing outside her house and has been since I added her. The only other sims ingame are the Role sims that spawned as soon as I ran the game for a moment.  Also, I only have 3  houses placed in the world right now and they're empty... except for my test sim.  When I decided to play Riverview, I deleted most of the RH and buildings and all the houses before setting it all up. (Trying to avoid the bleeding terrain is a trick and a half, but managed so far :)

Weird you didn't get an image in the zip. I'll upload it for you here, so you can see what I saw.

They don't match. I think you uploaded or linked to the wrong error file, if I'm reading it correctly it's actually from a game session that was two weeks ago. Maybe we already took care of that one or the wet laundry pile resolved itself.

I can't read enough of the MC error on screen to get a handle on what it's saying and it's not likely I will understand that one. Does it manage to clear itself up on a subsequent reload? If not, Chain or one of the others might recognize it better than I can right now.

Strange it doesn't match.... but then we are talking about MY game. I always get the weirdest happenings LOL.  Before I load my game I always delete the cache files and all the script error files. So those ones wouldn't have been from 2 weeks ago.  Also, 2 weeks ago I was still setting up Riverview. I just downloaded the script error and checked it out and it is the right one. The date showing is the 20/10/18. There should be 4 script error files and an image file in it.

It happened when I left edit town and back into live mode and let the game run until I got all the regular notices, then I got the MC one.  I've tried it again and don't get the script error notice in game now. But, I haven't exited the game and reloaded.

Something to do with patterns and the UI. Not sure if you have a bad one or you went back and fourth in CASt too much and it broke.

Thanks Chain, that's probably the problem. I'm decorating all the houses I'm placing and changing patterns and styles all the time. I guess I overworked it and should just shut it down and give it a break. :)

You likely didn't do anything wrong, but the MediaFire link you posted above originally gave me a zip with one file in it, a stale error and a pile of wet laundry. It's not doing that now. Must be a caching issue of some kind, though not sure which site to put the blame on or if it's my browser. Guess it doesn't matter now.  :)
