Would it be too hard to add scroll buttons on the News?

That box at the top of the page with the Latest News is cool, but it cycles rather slowly for me.  Scroll buttons would allow those of us who read faster to read at our own pace, and it could still cycle at the standard pace for everybody else.

Yes and no. Buttons aren't hard to do but due to the floating nav bar when you scroll below the header, adding buttons would cause a host of issues in adjusting position code and due to the fixed width layout of the site make it look a bit more cramped up there. I'll ponder options. Of course in the interm you can just head to the announcements forum to see if anything has been posted which is where it pulls from. :)

This won't be helpful in any way, but I for one am grateful that the test news items from 2019 are gone. We must have confused someone somewhere along the line into thinking we are time travelers here. Not saying we aren't, just that no one should be thinking this.  :)

Indeed, we must keep our secrets to ourselves. Just another element of the cache system. Can't have it pulling from the threads data table on each page load or my database server will explode so it's stuffed into cache. I had it disabled at launch since it is non-critical to reduce crashing but it is now functional. :)
