Crying Baby Revisited

Post by Naito_Shade » October 18th, 2018, 8:13 pm

I know I posted this in the past, but I searched and did not see the post. I am gathering the post was either purged (because it was solved at the time) or has simply not made it to the new site yet.

I recall there being a way...I think with Returner...that you could make it so a baby crying would not wake your Sims. Could someone re-enlightenment about how to do so?

Crying Baby Revisited

I'm really sorry to have to put it this way, but wouldn't it be simpler to tend to the baby's needs before they get so severely low (red) that they start crying? Hygiene is the one that's impossible to catch before it tanks when they empty their bladders of course, but you can still be standing by and change them hopefully before they even have a chance to wake up the rest of the house...

Or did you have some other sort of scenario in mind, such as when the baby is not part of the active household?

I usually just give the parents the heavy sleeper trait for a few simyears until their baby gets past baby and toddler stages to become a child.I also have Mods to make babies and toddlers better about staying asleep though the night.

The parents are on a tight schedule. They wake up, shower, eat, tend to the baby, go to work, come home, eat, tend to the baby, then sleep. If the parents are sleeping I would prefer they stay asleep, and handle the baby in the morning. Yes, I do hire a babysitter, but they do not always stay the whole night. xD

I remember in one of the mods I could change a setting called "chancewakehousehold" or something. That is what I am asking about. heh

Babysitters aren't supposed to spend the night after teens and adults return home. I mean they can socially and you can ask them to "hang out" or something like that, but they really aren't on duty as sitters when others are around.

One way around this is to add a controllable household member to act as a nanny or child watcher so you can direct them to do these things while their "employers" are sleeping. But that doesn't always make sense to the storyline. Sorry, but raising kids was never meant to be convenient (I feel like I hear my parents' voices in my head when I say these things).

I looked through all the hits I could get on "wake" as a text string in the game's ITUN file, which is what Retuner works with, and couldn't find anything close. Maybe someone else will have better luck or recognize what you are looking for.

Hm,  I think there are two options possible Image
- click the baby with your Adult activ sim nraas - Retuner  and check all the social options and increase the fun value and autonomous values to true - to increase the attraction to do the needed actions
Because if the baby has needs they must be satisfied so the crying should be kept.

- create a automatic Baby Caste with SP and set all Motives you want to static  -  choose Sim Type Active Family and/or Inactives as you like

F.i. I set the lifespan for babies to only 2 days, because for me it is not really fun to play them longer as I must (even I have more than 8 sims in the house, enough helpers) Image

C-Dark - The OP doesn't want their sims to tend to the baby overnight when they should be sleeping. Making it more attractive to them to do so probably won't wake one and only one of them up and get them to the baby's room any faster.

Changing the baby's needs to static will work if the OP doesn't see this as cheating. But doing it the caste way means that all babies in town all of the time will never need sleep, feeding, changing, cuddling, or anything. That may be more than what was wanted but if there is no other choice the same could be done on this one sim baby under Sim Options on demand for the overnight hours and then set back again during the day.

Yet another way is to age up the baby to toddler and be done with it as at least toddlers are more predictable. Sorry, if you didn't want to have kids then why did...okay, I'm not being serious here and I'll stop lecturing (for now).  :)

Sorry but I only gave some other possibilities, the attraction is the first thing to do, so the baby is better satisfied befor sleep?
, and the caste "can" be another I wrote  "choose Sim Type Active Family and/or Inactives as you like"

The easiest way is to increase the motive bars of the ONE active baby when the adults go to bed.
I guess Naito_Shade can decide by himself what he tries or not.

(unnecessary stuff removed)

At the end of the day (or the beginning of it) players can do whatever they like with their digital creatures and don't really have to worry about whether igazor or anyone else approves or not.

But yes, a more efficient way to cheat through the night would indeed be to have testingcheatsenbled on and click drag that one baby's needs to maximum or out of the negative zone so no one is woken up in the middle of the night.
