My sim keeps getting moved

Post by Shojiki82 » October 13th, 2018, 8:02 pm

Hi all,

I have a very quick question. My Sim keeps getting flagged as unrouteable by NRAAS and gets teleported back to my house. THis happens during long animations when the sim doesn't appear to be stuck. Is there a way to stop NRAAS from moving my sim, whilst still allowing it to continue moving non played sims?

If it is NRaas Overwatch that is falsely detecting your sim (or any other) as unroutable then the settings that would probably work out better would be, on City Hall or an in-game computer,
NRaas > Overwatch > Settings > Stuck Check > True
NRaas > Overwatch > Settings > Stuck Check Auto-Reset > False

This should give you a notification whenever OW detects a sim as potentially route stuck, but it won't reset them. It would be up to the player to find the sim (if inactive somewhere about town, retreat to Map View and click on their image in the notification to focus the game camera on them), decide if they need to be reset or not or if there is a barrier in their way that needs to be removed, fix the problem or do the reset with MC if required, and play forward.

There is no way I know of to exempt active sims only from the Auto-Reset feature. And I never use the feature myself because in the case of inactives it is impossible to find and fix whatever might keeps causing them to get stuck like a broken door or a stuck elevator if the sim is already back on their home lot by the time I find out about the problem.

If it is one of the other mods, such as GoHere, deciding that the sim is unroutable, then that alone should be triggering a notification but not a reset.

If it is the game itself deciding that the sim is route stuck, a feature that was expanded in one of the later patches around 1.63 I think, then it's kind of all bets are off because the game will do what it feels it needs to. It's not always easy to tell the difference once the reset has happened, but usually the mod that is doing the complaining if it is a mod doing so will at least identify itself.

Thanks Igazor! One quick question, if i click on my sim i also have the options:

NRaas > Overwatch > Settings > Stuck Check > True
NRaas > Overwatch > Settings > Stuck Check Auto-Reset > False

Would this accomplish the same thing as doing it on a computer i.e change settings for all sims, or do you think this might be the way to set it for a specific sim?

Oh, I forgot about that. Overwatch presents its settings on more than just City Hall, but they do the same things regardless of where the Settings menu shows up. It's only a few mods such as MC and SP that are more context-specific. Overwatch's settings are always global.

Just to add I've learned from experience that such false positives can be caused by outdated tuning mods, tuning mods that have been malformed do to improper changes and poorly coded script mods.
There is also the KW mod by Oniki that is notorious for causing OW to give false positives as well as causing a whole bunch of other problems.
