Teen-Adult marriage

Post by gaporter9 » September 14th, 2017, 9:56 pm

I'm having some trouble with getting a teen/adult couple married. They became engaged as teenagers, and I had no problems there. I have the settings on Woohooer and SP set to allow teen marriage, pregnancy, teen/adult relationships, etc. My active sim aged up to young adult, and he got the "Get Married" wish and his parents have the "See so-and-so Get Married" wish, so I decided to have them get married while the inactive sim is still a teenager. I first tried to throw a wedding party and they were able to use the wedding arch. After the little ceremony scene, they saw each other as husband and wife in their relationship panel, but there was no prompt to move them in together, neither sim changed their last name, and the marriage wishes were not fulfilled. They also did not register any memories of exchanging rings and I got the notification that the guests are disappointed to not see a wedding. I restarted the game and did a private wedding instead, but I got the same results. Is this how teen/adult marriages work, or is there a setting in the mods I can try adjusting so they can fulfill the marriage wish and move in together? Thank you!

Hi there and welcome to NRaas.

The core level blocks on teen-older romance do get in the way of things at times and sometimes unexpected stuff can happen if the game fights back against the mods' settings. But usually that means a couple can't or refuses to get married (etc.), I've never heard of or seen such a wedding take place and be recognized as a long term relationship bump to spouses yet not really "count" for memories or wish fulfillment as you have described.

You aren't using AwesomeMod alongside of NRaas by any chance? Not sure what would happen there, but that one might not be very happy about the sudden mixed-age relationship moving forward. Or possibly any other non-NRaas mod that governs romance? Do you have any other mixed age couplings like this in your world that are stable?

If not any of the above, and you have MasterController in play, you might try setting their status back to Best Friends or something (on MC > Sim > Intermediate > Long Term Relationship by Category), then Married again to see if that changes anything. It probably won't from what you have described, but it's the only other thing I can think of besides waiting for the younger one to age up to YA before coupling them again.

Or maybe one of my colleagues here will have seen this and know what else, if anything, can be attempted.

I'm not using any non-NRaas mods, currently. This is my first teen-adult marriage since downloading the mods, so I don't have much to compare it to yet. Maybe I'll try resetting the relationship to back to best friends, but I was hoping to avoid the hassle. Not that this isn't turning out to be a bigger hassle....

Thanks for your response!

You should've gotten the prompt to move them in together I've had a few teen/adult marriages.
The wish and memories will not count.

You could try making the teen active before doing the wedding
