Kama Simtra Challenges Completion Effects

Post by Jerthebear23 » April 9th, 2016, 2:26 am

I have been looking for hours now trying to find documentation on what you get when you complete a karma simtra challenge. I know that different challenges can give you positive and/or negative results but before I start completing challenges I would like information to be able to balance the effects to my desires. If anyone could provide me with the information (preferably in a well documented manner) it would be much appreciated.

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas.

As I recall, there are only two KS challenges that have negative repercussions, namely Cheater and Bike. The penalties are a severe drop in attractiveness especially with sims who are in other romantic partnerships.

The benefits for each of the minor challenges are that your sim gets Renown points. The base number of points granted per challenge is an option adjustable on NRaas > Woohooer > KS > Renown per Challenge > (default is 1, subject to multipliers in some cases). The benefit of Renown is that with each increase in points your sim is more likely to please their woohooing partners with stronger positive moodlets and charges a higher rate if they are a professional.

There is no chart available listing out the requirements of each challenge, but you could make one of your own. To find the substance required of each challenge, look at any sim's KS skill tab as long as they have a KS Skill Level of at least 1. To find out (and change, if desired) the quantity of notches needed to satisfy each challenge, look at NRaas > Woohooer > KS > Minimum Notches.

Some of this stuff is indeed meant to be shrouded in mystery, but does this help clarify things a bit?

yes thanks this helped very much although I am confused on some of them like what is galaxy of stars and how does it differ from starry eyed also womanizer says "Be careful, or the locals may wise up to your womanizing ways" does that mean it has negative affects

I was hoping someone else might answer, they still could. But when it comes to some of the more obscure (in my game, anyway) challenges, I sort of let what happens be a surprise. But the ones I see more commonly such as Fidelity, Cheater, Promiscuous, etc., obviously not all the same sims there as that would be impossible, are pretty easy to spot the results of.

Starry Eyed counts sim interactions. Galaxy of Stars counts stars (one for each celeb level). That's why the default notch requirement for Galaxy is something ridiculously high like 500 (unless it's the other way around). Not really sure on the womanizing thing, that does sound negative but sometimes things sound that way just to be amusing. Not sure how else to put this but...in my games, a "womanizer" would be a rare sight because the objects of my sims' affections mostly tend to be of the male persuasion. :)

I've completed almost all of them except for Maneater
While some like Womanizer, Bike and Cheater have some negative affects the ones that have a more positive affect like Fidelity, Starry Eyed tend to counteract those in the end if you achieve most of the goals they tend to either balance out or slightly lean more to the positive

Thanks for all the information I've been getting its been very helpful and I'm always up for more. Some of them still confuse me like the Easy Rider challenge I recently completed and it states something along the lines of getting a free ride whenever and wherever I want although I'm not sure if i should take that so literally. Well I guess I will have to just do the challenges and figure out a lot of this myself or find a way to open up the mod and look at the code.

The rundown:

Notes, liking change is applied daily to all Sims your Sim knows who meet the criteria. End applied value is stated value times KamaSimstra Daily Relationship Change

Buff chance affects the chance of receiving a negative or positive buff (stratification chance). This value is then added to KamaSimtra Base Satisfaction. Also tacked on is KamaSimtra skill level times Satisfaction Per Level to give the overall chances of being satisfied or disappointed. This is the end value used in the randomizer. Negative is only applied if the positive chance fails or the end value for positive is below 0.

Buff length affects the timer on the positive buff should they get one.

Note for each opportunity the Sim has not completed, the chance of a negative buff is increased by 5.

Thank you so very much this is exactly what i was looking for. I am so glad you took time to look through the code. I am only a little familiar with how coding works and have only delved into a few scripting languages so this definately saved me some hassle. Also I have copied all of this information into my own txt file on my computer but it should definitely get documented on the site somewhere. Anyway with all of this information hopefully this will be the last question I have about the Kama Simtra Challenges. When you say that renown is doubled or tripled will it only multiply the current renown once or does it maintain that multiple when you acquire more renown. Example you have 4 renown then complete a challenge to double renown then acquire 4 more renown will the total be 12 or 16? To be more basic I am just trying to figure out if the order you do things affects final outcome.
