Forgot what they were doing?

Post by marstinson » March 25th, 2016, 1:57 am

Finally started playing around with Woohooer and noticed a couple of things, but I'm not sure if they are normal or if something else is going on.

First thing I noticed is that half the town now seems to be pregnant or on the way to being so (left the Risky chance at the default 10%). Is that supposed to be happening or is this just Story Progression fulfilling its function?

Second thing is my own Sims. I have a couple of Fairies who think that autonomous woohooing is better than dancing. That's fine since I'm checking to see if the pregnancy chance actually works, but about half the time they get through the initial make-out animation and then forget what they were doing. Same thing seems to happen if I give it to them as a directed interaction (make-out animation and then "what was I supposed to be doing?" And since neither of them are Absent Minded, I'm just puzzled. Any help or clue on this one? Thanks for any info y'all can give.

Half the town being pregnant could be the result of SP driving the inactives to fulfill their childbearing quota -- meaning, if you have Base Number of Children set to anything above 0 SP will try to make everyone in town have that many children as soon as possible. I find for my games setting that to 0 and limiting the maximum number of children they can have creates a better balance.

Can't help you with the queued actions being dropped. :-(

For the dropping, are you sure they have valid woohoo locations that aren't in use?

@simwahine: Thanks for the heads-up. I'll need to check SP on the inactives question, but I definitely did not change anything from defaults in that regard. I just tinkered with the immigration settings in order to populate a player-made world.

@Chain_Reaction: absolutely positive. If anything, there might have been too many possible locations. One go-around had them headed for the bed, a second one had them headed for a shower, while a third had them deciding to use the tub-shower combo, and they never moved more than a few steps from their initial locations since the action queue cleared after the initial make-out. There was nothing to block pathing to any of the three, so I'm kind of stumped.

OMG, what interesting situations this mod throws at you. Probably shouldn't share on the regular forum, but it's just too rich to not share. Single mom with a teen daughter who managed to get knocked up in the photo booth at the Festival grounds (autonomous teen woohooing followed by a couple of days' worth of floating head before she delivered). Long game length, so we juggled our way through infancy without too many problems since mom had a work-from-home career. Baby's birthday rolls around, so the teen decides to have a birthday party. Invited her partner and mother (baby's grandmother), invited her mom's girlfriend, and her mom's best friend decided to crash the party (oh, well, at least there was enough pizza to go around). First thing, best friend hits on teen's future mother-in-law. No dice, but everyone embarassed. Second, mom's girlfriend hits on teen's partner and was actually getting somewhere (took a "stop that" to stop that). Best friend then hits on mom's girlfriend when I wasn't looking and the next thing I know, they're TFB in the bedroom. Then mom's girlfriend hits on teen's future mother-in-law, was actually getting somewhere, and relationships were dropping like a thermometer in Siberia. Finally get everyone shoo'd out the door and "what an epic party! They'll be talking about this one for decades!" (yeah, I bet they will)

I don't suppose there's a "socially unacceptable" setting in there somewhere?

LOL. Still not Dickens (remember our "first thread," the others here won't get the inside joke) but you do have a way with story telling. Though I think I saw this all on a made for TV movie once. Or was that an After School Special? Memories fade after so many decades have passed...

Floating head syndrome: Most of us find our teen sims feel more comfortable with proper maternity clothes. There are many available, but this set is the most popular for starters: http://modthesims.info/d/492712 (same creator has sets for males and teen males should they be needed)

Official forums: I'd say you would get around three words in before being stomped on by a moderator; they lurk about just waiting for stuff like this. Woohooer mod, teen woohoo, and teen pregnancy are off-limits for topics there.

You can dial some of that rampant activity back with the mod's settings, but sounds like you are enjoying it. Having other fun giving objects in the house to entertain guests at a party can also help. Sometimes.
