Mod Not Working - Can't Click on Any Comp

Post by Sonshine » March 23rd, 2015, 2:28 pm

Hi, I just d/led the newest version of this and went into the game and I can't click on any comp to bring up options for any of nraas mods. First off, I currently do not have ITF installed. The newer version *should* still work w/this though, right? In the mean time, I'll try the next version down and see what happens. Thanks!

Hey, I don't have ITF installed either. Are you and I the only ones left? :)

Have never had Woohooer do that to me on any version, up through the current one v128. Have you taken the usual steps such as clearing the scriptCache.package file and (you are on patch 1.67, correct?) applying EA's SuperPatcher, making it run even if it says everything is up to date?

Then, of course, there's the slightly more drastic troubleshooting step of temporarily pulling all of your mods out, clearing the caches, and running with Woohooer only to see if it works that way which would indicate a possible conflict with something else you've got there.

Oh, slightly less drastic. Perhaps you have one of the optional Woohooer modules as well but the versions are mismatched?

To add on Igazor's suggestion, try the Mod Updater to get the right module version with its compatible Woohooer base version.

Also, might not needed, don't forget to clear your Cache file after updating your mods.

Hi again! Thanks for the suggestions. The base mod is the only one I have. I haven't tried clearing the cache since d/ling this mod, but I can sure try it. I just got a new video card so I'll be testing things out w/that too. As for the only ones left who don't have ITF, I used to have it, then just got my comp wiped, installed everything again and, for the life of me cannot find my ITF disk! : / Waiting for prices to come down to get another one. Yes, I do have patch 1.67. :)

Update: I cleared all cache files and ran the game again. I still do not have any interactions on the comps at all, not even to play games or whatever. The only time I have any interaction and this is only for nraas and nothing else, is when I put the comp on the floor. Also, I have a couple who were romantically involved as teens, but one just now grew up into an adult and the other is not very far behind. I was able to set it up and I went through everything, even allowing "adult/teen woohoo" and there is no woohoo available for them. The only romantic action I can do w/o being on the bed is "propose marriage" and the only things available on the bed are normal social actions and under romantic, "take romantic photo together." I tried following all the directions as I read all of the descriptions on the mod "interactions" page including what was hidden by what, but I might have missed something. I ran the Mod Updater program and don't have anything highlighted in yellow. This whole thing is certainly puzzling. As stated before, I can try putting an older version in to see what happens although I already have an older version, but not sure which one.

Okay drastic measure seems needed;
1. Pull out your entire Mods folder from your Sims 3 userdirectory
2. Get a new mods FrameWork from here under point 2 (the blue download icon). Unpack it and extract it within your Sims 3 userdirectory
3. Download a fresh copy of the Woohooer mod, unpack it and place the mod within MyDocs\EA\Sims 3\Mods\Pacakges folder
4. Clear cache and run your game, try to see if the interactions are back in your savedgame. If not try a new game.

When confirmed it is then you can start moving mods over from your old Mods folder on your desktop to the new one in your Sims 3 userdirectory, if by chance the interactions disappears again, you had something in your old mods folder thats incompatible and taking your mods down.

I can't see or get into your computer so, you'll need to do it all by yourself.

I didn't do the drastic measure, but I did take this mod out. Guess what? All options appear on the comp again. So something in this mod is interfering w/the options on the comp. At least on my comp it is. This was happening last night before I got my new video card so that's not an issue. This family is in RH if that makes any difference. I didn't try any other world w/the mod in and I didn't try w/no other mods in. It's possible that there is a conflict of mods somewhere. I do have a few other mods besides the nraas ones. I'll try that and put them in one at a time until I find the culprit. I did also try the older version of the mod just in case, but still had the same results.

It would be more efficient (though you might have planning to do this anyway) to start with NRaas mods only, including Woohooer just to verify that the mod is going to work for you at all -- and it certainly should.

Then you could add the other mods in one at a time as you said, but if you have a lot of those the 50/50 method can be much faster. Add half of the remaining ones in and proceed backwards or forwards by remaining halves until you can isolate the conflicting one.

Ok, I took out all other mods and ran it, no options on the comp. I removed ALL mods, including nraas except for this one, no options on the comp. I removed ALL package files except for this mod and the same. The *only* time I can get options on the comp is when I remove this mod. So maybe somebody can look into it or maybe it's my system, I don't know. I run it on a pc, Intel i7 cpu, and a GeForce GTX 970, and Win 7/64.
