Woohooer No Longer Shows Up For Teens

Post by JBodine1 » July 12th, 2016, 10:30 am

Hi,

Just wondering if a new version of the mod is coming soon? As of the latest update from the other day, Woohooer doesn't show up in the menu when a teen sim is clicked on, even though I have the actions turned on for teens.

The mod is fine as far as I'm aware. Follow this FAQ: Woohooer FAQ

Can I just cut in to ask for some clarification -- is it the romantic actions (including Woohoo, Risky, and Try for Baby) that is not showing up for you or the NRaas > Woohooer mod menu that fails to show? The mod menu can disappear on some sims for some players for reasons I don't think have ever been nailed down, but wasn't sure which one you meant.

The mod was working fine until the Game Launcher downloaded a new patch earlier this week. Now, several things happen: 1. When I launch the game it now informs me I have outdated mods and asks if I want to quit or continue. 2. When I click on NRaas in a Teen Sim's menu, Woohooer isn't one of the available options anymore, and 3. Teens and Adults can no longer interact romantically *at all.*

Which patch level are you now on? If you are on Patch 1.69, it will say so on your Launcher front and center. If you are on Patch 1.67 (or one of the earlier ones), hover your mouse over the base game icon in the Launcher and the patch level should show in a pop up tooltip.

There hasn't been a new patch delivered by way of the Launcher since 1.67 in January 2014. It's still considered a "current version." The other "current version," Patch 1.69, is delivered by way of Origin only.
<a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Patch+1.69" ... ch+1.69</a>

1 - This message means you now have an outdated core mod for your patch level. As the page I linked to says, there are only around 5 core mods in common usage for TS3. The only one from this collection would be ErrorTrap, but it could be that and/or the others listed there that now needs you to update them.

2 - As stated, the NRaas > Woohooer sim menu does go missing all on its own for many players. That's annoying, but usually the only things that then become cumbersome are the missing Enroll (or Leave) Club Rendezvous and Register (or Unregister) as a Professional. The other Woohooer mod options should still be showing on City Hall or an in-game computer.

3 - Once we verify which patch level you are now on, and check which version of Woohooer and its add-ons you are running, the procedure to find out why teens and older cannot interact romantically is on the FAQ page Chain linked to above, the section entitled "Why can't I see the "Woohoo!" or "Try For Baby!" interactions for two of my sims?"

It's also possible but not too likely that when the patch installed it corrupted the saves or maybe even the Documents>Sims 3 folder

@namaradus - Certainly not unheard of, quite common in fact. But usually, though there could be exceptions, saved games so affected cannot even be loaded up and TS3 game folders become unusable and need to be replaced with a fresh one before a new game can be started, as opposed to one script mod's behavior changing in an otherwise (from what we know so far) functioning game.

But I'd still like to know which patch we are talking about.

It's patch 1.69. I don't know what it updated *to* since that was the version I had before, lol, but I logged into Origin (I misspoke when I said Game Launcher earlier) earlier this week and it installed a new patch and my game has been doing that ever since.

There have been three releases we know of for Patch 1.69.
1.69.36 on Nov 12, 2015
1.69.42 on Jan 6, 2016
1.69.43 on Jan 11, 2016

If there was a new patch released this week, I'm afraid you are the only one reporting having received it. Sounds like perhaps you hadn't logged into Origin for a while, maybe had been playing with Origin offline or not playing at all, and just now picked up the third release of 1.69.43 where before you had one of the earlier two?

Sorry, but none of these 1.69 patches change a thing about gameplay or mod behavior (except for the version mismatch warning on core mods). They only change the way in which the game starts up. Even patch 1.67 didn't change anything, the last one to do so was 1.66 and that was well over two years ago.

What version of Woohooer are you running? If you have no idea, you can check an ErrorTrap log (if you have ErrorTrap) or on City Hall, NRaas > Woohooer > Version.

At the very least, you need to identify how many of the five popular core mods you have and update them (except for AwesomeMod if you use that as there is no update provided). If you are using ErrorTrap or are willing to add it and have script logs to share or any error logs being kicked up by any of the other NRaas mods, zip some together, upload, and we'll tell you if anything looks way out of place there.
<a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/How+To+Uplo ... +Upload</a>

I'm sorry that Woohooer is not behaving the way it was for whatever reason, but it cannot be from a 1.69.x to 1.69.y patch update because, again, those do not change anything at all about gameplay. Once we get these version numbers squared away, and maybe some script logs examined, the key to finding out why the teen-older romantic interactions are not showing is again by using Woohooer's debugger function as explained on the Woohooer FAQ page.

I haven't played in a while. Looks like it updated from 1.69.36 to 1.69.43
