Pp script error

Post by Allosauridae13 » October 24th, 2015, 9:29 pm

Nraas.portraitpanel - script error - CreateKnownInfoToolTip.
I keep getting stuck on 1 sims panel info.. mostly happens when trying to work on a equine sim.
I've removed and then re adding PP script but it didn't work.

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas. First question to ask (probably too obvious, but...) do you have the right version of PP for your game's patch level? For Patch 1.67, that would be PP v33.

If so, I would suspect that while PP is what is reporting the error, there is something else about that sim (horse or otherwise) that is refusing to cooperate with the Known Info tooltip function. Are you getting an actual script log with this error that you could upload for us to see or is it just the alert you have posted above and nothing more?

Either way though, as a first troubleshooting step, I would suggest temporarily removing all non-NRaas mods, clear your game's 4-5 cache files, and load up a test copy of your saved game to see if the issue persists.

I did check the game patch vs mod version.
Here's the link to the script log I uploaded. I'll try removing the other mods for now to see if it works like that.

Got it, thanks. You don't have to link back to your uploads, we can see who they are from.

But whoops, hang on a minute there. What patch level are you on, exactly? The version of MasterController you have (I hadn't expected to see this) is 16 versions behind the current one and is certainly not meant for Patch 1.67. That can't be helping if there is a mismatch happening.

I have the 1.67 I hadn't thought to check that one since it was showing Portrait Panel as the reason. I'll update which one I have and test it.

I agree that doesn't made much sense. But the KnownInfo ToolTip is failing on trying to calculate that sim's family relationship to the active sim. Should one of the these sims be the Uncle (on the father's side) of the other one, as that's where the calc seems to be stumbling? Could be a corrupt or misaligned family tree. But of course the MC mismatch has to be ruled out first.

Nope, shouldn't be at all in my household at all. I had read a little of the script error on IE & was confused by that.

So far it's working with only updating MC and running a full defrag. I'll see if it keeps going well. Thank you

The defrag can't really be relevant but thanks for reminding me that my game system is overdue for one, it's the only machine I control that doesn't defrag itself without intervention needed (my choice).

I'm actually surprised that worked and was afraid that use of the up until then outdated version of MC had caused sim corruption much more than just the PP error. But we have seen stranger things happen when MC and a couple of others have accidentally gotten out of synch. Glad to have helped. :)

Had to get rid of the 1 equine sim but that's okay. Saved the coat etc.
Had to defrag... after upgrading to W10 (had issue before though) and taking things in and out of folders game crashed a few times just booting it. Once I did full defrag I was able to play.

So glad I have my game back and that only 1 sim was lost to it. I'll keep a closer eye on updates.
