'Do homework' on the tablet not working for home schooling homework

Post by madison_212 » September 6th, 2015, 11:26 pm

My first post. Thanks for this entire amazing project. I am playing with the home schooling feature. Everything else working fine, and homework can be done normally on paper. But when using the MultiTab, the do homework doesn't count in the home schooling performance. Is it just me or something missing in the code?

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas...or welcome to your first post, anyway. :)

Whether homework for home schooling is done on paper or a device, the student doesn't actually get any credit for it unless it's "turned in" on time, that is before 10 am each morning. That can be done by handing it in at City Hall in person or by downloading a new assignment by computer -- the completed one gets uploaded in the process.

Or have I misunderstood and is it that you are finding out the homework cannot actually be completed by Multi-Tab?

Sorry I didn't make it clear. It is the 'do homework' interaction on the MultiTab not working.
I can turn in homework and get credit normally when doing homework using homework book. But when using 'do homework' interaction on MultiTab, the green process bar and animation played normally, the small face of homework status turned green for a few seconds, then it got reset to 0% process somehow, and the face turn back to red.

Bah, I had every intention of testing this out tonight to see if I get the same results but am pretty much out of steam and it may be another day or two before I can get to it. If no one else does so and reports in before then, have you tried running a test with any non-NRaas mods pulled out (and scriptCache.package cleared) to see if it might be a mod from a different source that is blocking the Multi-Tab homework progress?

I'm having a different issue. First time got the homework downloaded. Now I have no interactions available for the child with *any* computer so can't submit homework electronically.

Well, once completed they could always take their homework to City Hall and turn it in there in person. But I'm puzzled as to what could be blocking a child from using computers; certainly have never seen that behavior with home schooling before. Do you get the same behavior with all non-NRaas mods removed (on a test game, if necessary)?

Welcome to NRaas, by the way. :)

Didn't have the issue until after the first homework download(have been turning in at City Hall).

And thank you for the welcome.

If you have MasterController, perhaps try MC resetting the sim and/or their household before pulling mods?
