Script Errors

Hello to any and all who may see this.

I keep getting the same batch of script errors shortly after starting up the game. I took down the names of the sims and they are all dead NPCs with graves in the mausoleum.

Earlier this evening I clicked on the mausoleum to see if I could Manage the Dead but everything kind of froze up. There were watery ghosts lingering in the graveyard unrendered and I couldn't click directly on the mausoleum. So instead I clicked on the City Hall NRAAS option to try and bypass the graveyard itself. None of the graves would load and foolishly I pulled two family member graves out and into the inventory.

Needless to say that after that, nothing would render on my home lot and I was forced to quit the game. I've never encountered an error like this before so now I'm wondering if packing everyone up and moving town would be for the best.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

(scratching head) Just when you think you've seen everything...oh sorry, that's not a good way to begin, is it. Let's start again. :)

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas. Your script log indicates that you have three dead Paparazzi who have become corrupt to some extent, Nicolas, Elsa, and Ron. I wonder if there someone or something going around improperly killing the Paparazzi or if we should regard their occupation when they were alive as a coincidence. Are there more dead sims than the three in that one log being repeatedly reported on?

If I had no idea who these sims were when they were alive and didn't care about them now, I would probably try to Totally Annihilate them using MasterController thereby removing all traces of them from my game. But if there were dozens more like this, I would probably have to pause and figure out where they were coming from.

This may not be related to the issue at hand, but several of your NRaas mods are outdated. Not to the extent that they are incompatible with your patch level, but the newer versions are more easily supported.
ErrorTrap 99 -- current is 100
MC and MC Cheats 132 - current for both are 133
Overwatch 119 - current is 122 (lots of improvements to be had here!)
StoryProgression, SP Money, SP Population, SP Relationship 266 - current for each is 267
SP Career 266 - current is 268
Woohooer 128 - current is 129

Hiya and thanks for responding, even though the beginning of your response makes me a bit nervous. ^^; There are six of them that I keep getting errors for: Ron Lujan, Byron Frank, Christian Dodson, Elsa Redding, Ezekial McCabe and Nicolas Hillman. For some reason the role of Paparazzi keeps getting assigned to elderly sims that end up dying shortly after. I wish there was a way to disable NPCs like the Paparazzi (without disabling the celebrity rating system for the active lot) and University Mascot completely because they're super annoying. Anyways, thanks for the heads up regarding the outdated mods. I've made a note to update them all next time I decide to dedicate time to the game. I'll also try what you suggested and Totally Annihilate them if you think that's probably the best route to go.

Which makes me wonder, should I do that first before updating all the mods or update them first and see if anything changes?

It shouldn't really matter either way. The mod updates are incremental, it's not like any of them were totally rewritten.

But perhaps you aren't seeing Register's menu on City Hall?
NRaas > Register > Global Roles > Allow Paparazzi > False
NRaas > Register > Global Roles > Maximum Paparazzi > 0

Odd, I would think Register to have a check for deadness. Perhaps it doesn't. You'll have to TA those to stop the errors though.

(lightbulb) I bet there's a really cool storyline that could be built in here someplace around being visited by the ghosts of Paparazzi Past, Present, and Future. But I'm not doing this, they are annoying enough to cope with when they are alive. Guess it was a dim lightbulb at best. :(
