Question re Overwatch and homeworld university

Post by Senorita_Ugly » May 15th, 2018, 10:22 pm

Hello all. I'm giving homeworld university a shot for the first time. Just wanted to know if I should tweak any settings on Overwatch to avoid enrolled Sims from being booted out of uni on aging up. Does Overwatch automatically check for Sims enrolled in uni? I looked through the settings, but couldn't see anything relating to uni and aging up. Thanks.

I don't think there's a setting related to that. I assumed it was just a built in fix. In my experience though, aging up of other sims in the active household can drop the enrollment of active household enrolled sims. So, for example, if I try to age up an infant or a toddler in the active household, other sims in the active household who are enrolled in a homeworld university often have their enrollment dropped. My workarounds have been to either: (a) put off all aging up until the term is over, (b) travel those sims to Oasis Landing (leaving the enrolled sims at home) and do the age transitions there. I haven't yet played a sim who had to age transition while enrolled.

I haven't bothered to get inactive sim enrolled in a homeworld university, so can't speak to what happens when/if those sims age up.

When you say "try to age up an infant or toddler", I'm guessing you mean via the birthday cake or Master Controller? I generally just leave all aging up to the game itself (unless I'm having a birthday party with cake). Hmmm... I'm thinking that freezing all aging up while uni enrolment is in session is the simplest workaround to the issue of non-enrolled yet active Sims aging up...

I meant via MasterController. I don't use the birthday cake, and I never let the game age active sims itself.

When I get a chance, I might test out both kinds of aging in a household with more than one Sim (and where one of those Sims is enrolled in uni). If Overwatch factors in aging up brought on by EA (whether through cake or through EA standard story progression), then I can just leave it be.
