Travel after movning towns

Post by Calista_Drake » January 24th, 2018, 6:24 am

I recently moved my sim to a new town, in-game. I did not use the Traveler method, because I've found it causes my sim's home to have the same glitch as vacation houses, with the value of the house increasing exponentially every time a WA treasure chest is moved into or out of the household inventory, or whenever anything is moved into or out of said chest, plus I don't want to deal with the phantom home taxes from the former home in the other town, that my sim no longer owns.

I just tried to send her to the future for the first time since the move, and the game crashed while attempting to load Oasis Landing. I had to remove the nhd file from her save and let the game generate a new Oasis Landing, in order for her to travel there successfully.

Unfortunately, this means that she has grayed out relationships with sims that live there, including her descendants that no longer exist. Could this be a source of possible corruption if she meets any of them again, and gets the current versions added to her relationship panel, along with the old versions? Or might it cause corruption simply to have them there at all, even without meeting them again?

I'm pretty sure, and hope to be corrected if I've got this wrong, that the game will regard those in the regenerated world as different sims entirely from the ones in the now deleted world who no longer really exist in the game, even if they have the same names and backstories.

Have no idea about possible corruption. I thought I'd point out that RelationshipPanel allows you to Ctrl+click on portraits to delete the relationship. I've removed relationships that way, usually with sims in worlds my sims won't be visiting again (including past homeworlds), if only to clean up the relationship panel.

Thanks, guys. I'll try that, TreyNutz, but I'm not sure it's going to work. In the past, I annihilated all the sims from a town my sim wasn't going to visit anymore, after using MC to make them all strangers to her. But when one of the same sims showed up in her town as a tourist, his grayed out thumbnail appeared in her panel again, even though it did not register as belonging to the live sim visiting her hometown.

@TreyNutz I tried ctrl+click on portraits in her relationship panel, with testing cheats enabled, and all I got were the regular options. There was no option to delete any of them. Is it possible that you get that option from a mod?

Yes, RelationshipPanel. It's a NRaas mod. <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Relationshi ... ase+Ten</a>

I've disabled tourists (with Register) and haven't seen sims who I've deleted from the relationship panel reappear unless my sim meets them again (which happens in OL fairly regularly for me).
