Traveler: Long distance relationships disappear from relationship bar.

The only mod stopping your Sims from traveling to the abyss. Did you end up there anyway? We'll try to help.

Traveler: Long distance relationships disappear from relationship bar.

I’ve been using the traveler mod for a while but this very annoying thing happens all the time! For instance.. I have a family that “adopted” a child from Ziwa Bonde (Nilixs world) they brought him back to Brooklyn heights.. the parents and siblings will be there for a bit and then they suddenly disappear from the relationship bar and their icon disappears in the family tree.. you can still see the empty squares though..

I traveled back once the kid grew up to reconnect with his family but when I traveled back a new/fresh Ziwa Bonde file opened up.. (I added the Ziwa Bonde.nhd file to my Brooklyn heights file before)

I had to re-do that en connect the child again with the parents.. once back in Brooklyn heights the same thing happens again with them disappearing from the relationship bar but this time their pictures still showed in the family tree.. so confused!

Can anyone help me out?

This probably means one of two things.

1 - You are using an older version of Traveler. This was fixed for (some) custom worlds and four of the EA Store worlds where foreign relationships kept getting dropped and new instances of worlds kept spawning upon re-travel in v87, what is now the current version. It is highly recommended to have Overwatch, ErrorTrap, and the RelationshipPanel mods in play as well, if you don't already.

2 - Some custom worlds, due to the way in which they were ID'ed during their creation stage by their developer, are just never going to work with the Traveler system and new instances of them will keep spawning upon traveling back and forth. It's always best when working with custom worlds to test them out by traveling and moving a couple of sims back and forth in a new game off to the side just to make sure they are going to behave properly with Traveler.

Further to (2) above, I was given some custom worlds to test out by some other players here who were having this trouble a while back as I had been fortunate enough to never have seen the issue for myself in my own game. For the ones that didn't behave right with Traveler, there was nothing we could do to make them work better. The fault was indeed with the way they were ID'ed in their CAW design stage. Sorry if that's the case with the worlds you are working with, or at least one of them anyway.

Where can I download the world with the issue? I don't believe I ever got my hands on one.

I think one of them was called Midsomer? But the issues there might have been routing, I got rid of these worlds that weren't going to behave well a long time ago.

Hi igazor! Of course I'm reading this, I read everything but remember nothing. ;-)

Having said that though, I do actually remember that Cladbridge did have this problem but the fix Chain added in one of Traveller's many updates sorted it out. I never tested it at the time but I thought you did. Am I remembering that wrong? ;-)

@Chain: If you want the world the OP is using, I believe it's this one: Ziwa Bonde. I've heard reports that this world has terrible routing issues and does not like horses at all! Poor horses. :'-(

Thnq all for replying! Sarah indeed one of the worlds is Ziwa Bonde by Nilxis and the other is Brooklyn Heights by mysimsrealty. There are no cars in Ziwa Bonde no roads for veheicles.. I use the register and traffic mod to disable all veheicle routing and sims I don’t want in that world.. or the amount of animals I want. It’s a very beautiful world! Unfortunately The Sims 3 is always gonna have issues with mods conflicting or something which make the game laggy...
