No children being born in story progression

Post by Cucuwax » August 26th, 2017, 1:26 pm

Hey, long time user of the NRaas story progression mod, and I love it! In my revent save file, I have encountered a problem in which sims outside my active family won't become pregnant or married through story progression.

I have even tried to force pollination through the master controller-basic-pollinate menu, but they remain pregnant for 3-4 ingame hours, and suddenly their pregnancy token is taken away. Errortrap etc does not pick up anything.

Weird thing is that sims on my active lot can become pregnant.
I have tried resetting everything in my NRaas mods, so i'm not sure what to do anymore. Any ideas? Could this be a non NRaas issue?

Stories etc happen, just not any real story progression..

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas.

First thing to check, on one of these inactive sims whom you had pollinated but lost the pregnancy,
NRaas > SP > Sim Options > Pregnancy:Allow Can Be Pregnant
NRaas > SP > Sim Options > Pregnancy:Allow Participation

If either of these are showing as "(False)" with the parentheses, that means they are picking up the unwanted setting from a higher level -- Household, Caste, or Town.

If either of these are showing as "False" (no parentheses), then you have explicitly set that particular sim to never be allowed to be pregnant or parent a child (seems less likely from your description).

If they are both showing as "(True)" or "True" then we have a different issue to figure out and would ask what, if anything, is showing up on the Sim Options level under
Pregnancy:Allow Can Be Pregnant Caste
Pregnancy:Allow Participation Caste

Also check the same for Romance:Allow. I suspect that you have a Caste or Town Option that is denying Romance progression (not really related to the pregnancies) to inactive sims.

Just to add to the above, if you detect Caste breakage on this ongoing game and want to reset all of the castes to the way they were in the very beginning (did you delete any, for example?), then startup a new game, export its SP settings, and import them into the existing game. Just resetting the mod won't reset the caste settings if any of the default castes had been deleted.

When this happened to me, it was because the population of my town exceeded the max population in SP.

I didn't have trouble with pregnancies disappearing, if I recall correctly. But it's something to check.
