Sim Running Off Lot To Repair Things

Post by brappl » July 20th, 2017, 8:14 am

All of a sudden my Sim is constantly running off the lot to go to other lots to repair TV's, unclog toilets, fix steros or anything considered broken. This sim is a 5 Star Chef and does not even have the handy trait. She is being paid for her services though but it takes forever for her to repair things.

Also in these situations using DE to "Repair All" does not work when she is on the lot repairing things. If I stop her and send her home I can use DE.

Has anyone seen this or know what is causing this behavior?

I don't know why she is so interested in repairing things all of a sudden. But the off-lot thing sounds like a side-effect of HomeOpener as your active sim would be lot-greeted on all residential lots in town at once so to her it's as if the objects are not really all that far away (I think).

I bet that's it igazor. I'll pull it out and see what happens and report back. Thanks so much :)

Oh, not sure if you remember this but if you pull out HomeOpener the lots that existed at the time will still be "Open" on the next loadup. You would then have to use MC > Close on them individually (one time each) to close them up again.

Sometimes this game just makes me LOL...if I saw that happening that's probably what I'd do!

Well, to be fair the game isn't expecting our active sims to be lot-greeted on all residential lots at once. I've never been brave enough to try HomeOpener, most of my worlds I fear have too many households for that to work out well but I will give it a try maybe on a smaller vacation world some day. I like reading about how sims can take their laundry out of their own washer and put it in their neighbor's dryer. This could really come in handy IRL, I'd love to use a neighbor's oven today (it's too hot to use my own) but whenever I burst through their door and try that they keep yelling at me. Can't imagine what that's all about. :)

Um I'm not really sure if I've ever seen Repair All option in DebugEnabler. I'm using Repair All option in MasterController with Cheats module all the time.
