How to edit NRaas Overwatch saved settings file?

Post by muzhik » February 25th, 2017, 12:46 am

Hi!
I would like to edit some values in saved settings files (exported settings via Overwatch in library folder). Is there any way? Tried s3pe, but there are no _XML resource types.
Thanks!

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas.

I don't think I've ever seen this question before. It's an interesting idea, but I don't think those saved settings files can be manipulated like that. What you might want to do is import them all into a test world in a test game, make the changes you had intended directly in the mods, then do a fresh export that incorporates your changes. Would that work for you?

Thanks for reply. Yes, this is the only way I see. But I was hopping editing in Notepad++ would be faster, than do it via game.
We can preview Overwatch setting files in XML format In edit town in household bin when clicking on them, so I though it would be possible to edit them without loading the game.

Well, let's see if someone else comes along with the magic step we might be missing to do it the XML way, if it can be done. :)

They are encoded. You can hex edit them but that will be even more time consuming than just using the game.

I see, FAMD resource in s3pe shows up as Hex only, but game decodes it and shows as pure XML, is there tool that could do the same?
