Stop register to maximize motives?

Role Sims, homeless, service Sims, oh my. Something tells me we're not in Sunset Valley anymore.

Stop register to maximize motives?

Post by KittyTheSnowCat » December 19th, 2016, 6:57 am

I am using Arsil's Generic Custom Role. Everytime my Sims go to work their motives get maximized and frozen, even though I disabled the motives freeze on the generic role marker. Any way i can change that?

I feel like this may be possible with selector and/or master controller . I'm just not sure where but I suspect it can be done around the options that have to do with selecting sims but I have to check.

One of the key functions of Register is to keep Role Sims at their assigned objects throughout their assigned shifts, which in some cases can be insanely long. To that end, it keeps bumping up their motives periodically. I wasn't aware there was an option to do without that function and still use the mod.

And maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem, but why would anyone want Role Sims who keep starving to death, suffering from loneliness, and falling asleep over their cash registers (for example)? Unless you are trying to play them as active sims -- while more or less possible up to a point, I think you are fighting the nature of Role Sims by doing that. Arsil and I had a little chat about that, some of it is on the discussion page for his Generic Custom Role mod as a matter of fact, and he did say that playing Role Sims as actives while possible again up to a point is not exactly recommended. Or is something else the goal here?

well the problem is, that because the fun motives get maxed and only the social doesn't they only do social actions.. if the motives weren't frozen i could use the generic roles for a lot more stuff. So there is no option to disable it for certain roles? I was so sure there was...

I have both mods and I am pretty sure I had my generic roles have their motives both frozen and not. I had 1 sim who I played as an active who I had in a generic role. It worked pretty well, actually.

This is EA, not register. I have no idea about the internals of Arsil's mod so perhaps something to ask him.
