Hi igazor, I'm not sure what they do, that's why I haven't tried them yet. I think, on the MTS site where he has them, he says he's making more. I thought I'd wait until someone else tried them and see how they worked. If they only do food then they'll probably take care of the food merchants in town.
Thanks for the info. I've had a good read through the post and I would grab them in a flash as they seem to be exactly what I need. But I'm playing Medieval Europe atm and I don't want any of my sims to be executed for crimes against the maker by way of making advances in technology with a computer cash register.

It looks to be exactly what I need!!!! I used Ctrl +F to search each reply page for 'Nraas' and found the only mention to be how it works well with Register.

Though I think this mod I'm about to try affects the role sim and not the object - which should be ok with these boxes I'm using.
