Woohooer mod

Post by -Yavanna- » August 29th, 2016, 3:44 pm

Hi! I have the Woohooer mod installed, and have for a long time, and I've got a problem I can't figure out. My sim can only risky woohoo or try for a baby with women, not men. Nothing wrong with that, but I'd like her to have options.

I haven't messed with the mod lately, and everything worked just fine earlier today. Haven't got a clue what I did, if I did anything.

I also have Story Progression (base, extra, and population) and Master Controller (base and cheats) as well as several other NRaas mods in case it's something else.

I also have the Buckley Social Group Influence Effects BeGone mod. No other behavioral mods, and no new CC/mods.

Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Hi there, and welcome to NRaas.

Sometimes these puzzles fall into the "Things Are Not What They Seem" category. But the first thing that comes to mind is that your sim is being denied the chance to become pregnant herself, not that it's because of the gender of the potential partner. This can happen if:

-- She is already pregnant.
-- Her household is full and you have NRaas > Woohooer > Try for Baby > Species:Human > Maximum Occupants for User-Directed set to something other than 0.
-- She is too close to aging up to become pregnant.

Presumably you have things arranged so that if two females do Risky or Try for Baby, there is a chance the other female can become pregnant but if a female and man do so then the male cannot. If it is not possible for either partner to become pregnant, then there should be no Risky nor Try for Baby command available.

If none of this reasonably describes what it happening, then we'll walk you through using the debugging tool that comes with the mod to help find the real cause.

Thank you, Igazor! You nailed it. I went back into the game and she aged into an adult that day, then everything went back to normal. I swear I've had sims "try for baby" multiple times with no jingle, only to have one of them age up that day. I've never not had the option to try before. Maybe this time I only had one controllable partner, whereas before both partners were likely controllable. Regardless, I've had Woohooer for at least 2 years and this has never happened before so I was stumped. Thank you for your help!

Glad you got that sorted out. Just to clarify, I see that I could have stated that better, it's not that one of the sims is about to age up that will block Risky/TFB as only that sim should be disqualified from becoming pregnant.

It's when neither one is capable of becoming pregnant. Which would be the case as you described unless you allowed females to impregnate males.

So in the past I've had a male/female couple in my active household try for a baby, 6, 7, 8, I lose track of the number of times in a row, no jingle. Later that night the female ages up and I understand why all the try for baby woohoo with no jingle. But the option was there, they could try, just no jingle. I do not allow male pregnancy in my games (don't have the cc for it and the floating head, hands, and feet bug me) so neither one of them should have been able to get pregnant, but I still had the option. Now it's possible I'm misremembering and the woman may have aged up the next day, but I swear it was same day. I'm sure you're right, I'm just trying to understand what made this time different from the other times.

It's happened to me more than once over the years so you'd think I'd remember to check their ages when there's a problem, but apparently that's too much to ask. ;)
