University Credits and Master Controller

Post by Simmania » June 3rd, 2016, 8:57 pm

Hi guys!

I play with a homeworld university and my game is set up to enrol newly aged sims, (teen to YA).

It has became an habit of mine to assign 6 credits to inactives and my issue is actually about this.

I've noticed that when I add some credits to a major, other credits are randomly added to some other majors.

Example: If I were to add 6 credits to the fine arts, 6 other credits are added to the business major.

It's all very random as in additional credits are not always applied.

Any enlightment on this issue would be great.

Oops! Almost forgot this. I'm on patch 1.67 and I'm updated to the latest version of MC.

Thanks!

Hi Simmania,

First off, you are aware you aren't translating, heh. If so why all these hard returns between the sentences, it does make it easy to read though :-)

Second, I haven't been playing quite a while, but I did notice that as well when I did. Though there can be various of reasons, why its all spread out the way it is:
A: When you give those 6 credits, are they actually following courses in that Major? When exactly do you check if the value of credits you given, is logged in the right Major, straight away after giving or during the course of time?
B: There are occurrences that inactives get bumped out of a Major due to certain events (reset, pregnancy, age up), but the Caste that you made for those Sims will put them back to your Homeworld UNI. They not always take the same Major the second time.
Unsure how you build your Caste, there are ways to get such Sim to a specific Major, but requires setting up Caste for each Major which needs an extra Caste Filter to be used, such as Zodiac, Traits, Skills. If you made a general Caste you can only let them autonomous enroll into the University, but can't select which Major they will follow.

Typing on a phone is so weird! Anyway, I'm "glad" to know that you've noticed it aswell, thought something was wrong with my game.

The credits are being given immediately after a sim ages up from teen to young adult and yes, they are following a course on that major.
My caste is very straight forward as in young adults enroll immediately after aging up and they choose their major according to their lifetime wish. I've been playing this way for months now and It all works quite well.
It's not a big deal though, I just wanted to be sure nothing was wrong with my game and thanks for the reply :-).
