Homeworld University Academic Career and Save Games (Bug)

Post by GeekNProud » May 26th, 2016, 7:56 am

Whenever I setup and use a Homeworld University and sign up my sims for the academic career, whether using the Rabbit Hole rugs or Master Controller, and then I save the game and reload it, the academic career is always dropped upon reloading the game. It's like the academic career information is not being saved in my save games. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this and is there a way to fix it? Thank you for your time and attention. :-)

Hi there,

Just for clarity purposes, you do have the Traveler to unlock maptags + other minuscule features over from the Uni World to your Homeworld?

As to what may be hampering the data to be saved in your saved file. Either you recently installed (updated) some scripting mod recently and forgot to delete your Cache files or missing one of the mods that I mentioned above. Try after exiting the game to delete the ScriptCache.package in your Sims 3 userdirectory (Documents\EA\TS3) and restart your game, enroll your Sim to the Academic Career and see if the University Student Career holds after a save and exit.

For a better view on the matter, if you have <a class="wiki_link" href="/ErrorTrap">ErrorTrap</a> installed (if not please do so and run your game for about 3 min then check......read on...) or have ScriptError log files in your Sims 3 userdirectory, please upload them to this site so we can review your mod setup of any incompatibilities within your NRaas collection, here's the guide <a class="wiki_link" href="/How%20To%20Upload#How">How To Upload</a>.

Cheers!

Okay, I compressed and uploaded the the ScriptError log files, but it seems I accidentally uploaded it twice. Ooops. My bad. ;-) ;-) Nudge.

P.S. I already tried deleting the ScriptCache.package file like you said. Didn't work. :-(

You have an outdated Scripting mod in your Setup that will not work on patch 1.67 / 1.69. The developer of "MoDoor4" has last assembled his/her mod on patch 1.42x, that's most likely outdated.

Although it might still work (with issues) the Scripting Core of the TS3 game has enormously changed as of patch 1.63x, these little issues could be overseen by a gamer. But for coding stand of view, it could have major drastic consequences on the background internal coding and other scripting mods (such as NRaas) may not function as they should.

Another thing I can't advise on, how such Homeworld Uni will work in combination with Awesome Mod. Personally never had it, so I unsure if it affects anything NRaas you have installed in your setup, specifically the Homeworld Uni. For this we might need our coder to respond to this thread, though he's currently on a short trip and we are expecting him somewhere next week.

Currently I can only advise you the following:
1. Exit the game, if you have a session open
2. Remove MoDoor4 and its additional mods from your setup (your log registered 2, MODoor4 + MODoorUtilities), NOTE: be sure to look up in the manual if there are specific uninstall instructions you need to follow
3. Delete your Caches from your Sims 3 userdirectory: See <a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://simswiki.info/wiki.php%3Ftitle%3 ... ache_Files" rel="nofollow">How and What Here</a>
4. Start your game and load your save, then select CityHall> NRaas> MasterController> Town> Reset Everything.
5. Save Game As .... under a new name and Exit
6. Restart the game, load you save, let ErrorTrap do its job by clearing outdated codes.

Unsure this will remedy, whatever is happening in your current saved game or that another mod (like AweCore) is causing the settings not being saved. Without AweCore and without MoDoor4, I've have graduated Sims multiple times in between game sessions in my Homeworld Uni.

Looks like more than MoDoor, the core is throwing an exception indicating a core mod that is not of correct version (hopefully didn't save with that).
