I am receiving the "missing sims recovered" message every night for the same 2 sims. The 2 sims in question were dogs owned by one of my played families. I was visiting the family and noticed that they weren't being taken care of, and when I went to save the game I got that "a social worker is taking someone away" warning.
So the next time I played the family with the pets, I noticed that both dogs were gone. But still, Overwatch is recovering them somehow. I even used Total Annihilation (didn't work) and finally Force Kill, but Overwatch finds them again. They don't appear to physically exist anywhere in the game, so does anyone have a clue how I might delete them once and for all?
Missing Sims Recovered Repeatedly
I tried switching it off, and yeah, all that did was delay it. It went away after reloading the game (and it seems ErrorTrap is helping to clear it,) but it returns over and over again with different cats/dogs. After some investigation, I discovered these animals have all died of "Old Age" even though they are puppies/kittens. After the "Missing Sims Recovered" message, I use Master Controller's "Bury the Dead" and it adds missing tombstones for them each time. However, every morning the tombstones disappear again because Overwatch deletes them.
To summarize: Kittens/puppies tombstones in the catacombs, dead from old age but showing as "Out of Town." I compared them to all of the other animals in the world and none of them have this combination on their statuses. Something keeps making Overwatch recover them even though they are supposed to be dead.

Oh well. If anyone cares, I think the problem might be due to a conflict between Overwatch and Awesomemod. Awesome has some type of fix that effects the pet adoption animals, and I've discovered that these "missing" animals were all part of neighborhood pet adoptions. Whatever Awesome does, it causes Overwatch to detect them as missing so it recovers them. Then Awesome does its thing, then Overwatch recovers..... It's a never-ending loop. (Until I restart, then it seems that ErrorTrap removes them for good.)
