nrass glitching my sim?

Post by hotbread100 » May 18th, 2017, 10:31 pm

ok so i have overwatch and when it reads through unroutable sims sometimes it will say my sim was found and she was sleeping and then when she woke up it glitched her all the way out and onto the side of the building she is living in(penthouse) and i was able to use moveobjects real quick to move her back but it almost did it again, any idea what that is?

Whoa, there! I think we're going to have to challenge you to consider altering your thought processes a bit here.

Overwatch attempts to detect stuck/unroutable sims. So does the game itself as of one of the later patches, by the way, and sometimes we can't really tell which one is doing the reporting. OW will on occasion give us false positives. That's why many of us recommend to let it report on the stuck sims but not reset them automatically so we can see what, if anything is causing the fuss. That, and when there really is an issue we can see (not merely sleeping, more like a stuck door or object that shouldn't be where it is, or an inactive sim has come out of hibernation but materialized inside of the darkened out portion of a LN apartment building and cannot get out) then we have a chance to fix it and stop the further problems.

On City Hall or an in-game computer,
NRaas > Overwatch > Settings > Stuck Check > True
NRaas > Overwatch > Settings > Stuck Check Auto-Reset > False

Overwatch does not glitch sims. Using the MoveObjects cheat on any sim in any way is known to corrupt them, though. If your sim got out of bed and ended up inside of a wall, then there is something wrong with your sim or the building. I would suggest using MasterController to reset both of them (the sim and the building). Be aware though that if corruption due to use of MoveObjects on a sim has already spread far enough, they may not be very playable after a while and the game could develop other issues.

Wait I didn't know using MoveObjects on sims was corrupting! I have a habit left from my Sims 2 days of freely using it to settle temporary routing issues or absent-mindedness where a sim forgets they are on the way to do something crucial for self-care for example. Could that be involved with my large family slowing down a world when I move them in? (sorry for interrupting)

MoveObjects doesn't corrupt Sims in the sense that you think. What it does is confuse their routing manager because it doesn't update their new position. So you'll see them popping into places or between floors. Resetting them should fix it.

Then allow me to rephrase that. MoveObjects is arguably not the best method to be using to shove sims around.
