ani's shop for clothes register

Post by ritaxis » April 17th, 2016, 8:08 pm

SO I know that "shop for clothes" is obsolete, but I don't have Into the Future. I tried to place the "shop for clothes register" and it wouldn't accept any type of suerface I tried to give it-- for counters and islands it said "cannot intersect objects" and for any other type of surface it said "must be place on a surface with a slot" (of course the other surfaces all had slots of one kind or another).

WHat am I missing?

Hi there ritaxis... I do not have experience with that mod and Sarah_Sims, our resident Ani Mods Guru is in a different time zone. In the meantime, if you have not already, see if something in the <a href="http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Shop+For+Clothes">Shop For Clothes FAQ</a> helps. You might also want to check out the Issues and The List on that page.

I did read the documentation but no clues there.

I haven't used the Shop For Clothes mod very much but as far as I am aware, there is no Register involved or connected with it. The mod only alters the "Clothing Rack" which came with the Ambitions Expansion Pack and can be found in Buy Mode > Sort by Function > Storage > Dressers at a cost of $100. Although Ani has deemed it obsolete, it still works fine.

@ritaxis: Could you please tell me where the "Shop For Clothes Register" comes from? Thanks. :-)

Is this the mod? http://wilde-legacy.blogspot.co.uk/2011 ... .html#more
Yep, that register no longer works; you can no longer place the register on anything since I don't know what patch. It was good mod too, I miss it :(

I think it meant you need an OMSP, but that doesn't seem to work either.

@deesim: Ah! Thank you. I didn't know that mod existed. It only says it's compatible with Patch 1.29 so I'm assuming that means it won't work with any other patch.

It actually worked for some later patches until something killed its 'placement ability'. If someone can actually GET the register on the OMSP, then it will work. There's nothing wrong with the register per se, but it's no use if it can't be placed. If I have some time, I'll fight with it and see what it's problem is :)

It was easier than I thought lol. It works! It simply needed 'MoveObjects On' to place it on the OMSP! lol. It never needed it before, as it would just go on the slot, but now it needs it, so place Granthe's OMSP on the floor, rasise it to 1m, place the register on it with MOO, then slide it onto a counter. You may have to restart the game for the interaction to show up. Remember you need 'Ani's Shop for Clothes' clothes rack installed for it to work. You can have both items in the same shop too! :)
With your active sim, click on the register and they'll end up in CAS. Buy (add) a piece of clothing or outfit, then when you exit CAS, a pop up box will ask you how much the outfit should cost :) Enter §5000 for a pair of shoes! lol.
NRaas>Register doesn't show up on it like other registers (maybe because it's modified from Ani's Shop For Clothes clothes rack, and a rack doesn't have a clerk) so you can't have a normal clerk tending it, but maybe you could use Arsil's Custom Generic Role mod (the floor marker) - (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=559243) behind the counter to look like they work there :)
