Married Sims living apart won't move in together.

The mod that's bigger than 80's hair. We promise to help tame the beast.

From my experience all Rigorous Home Inspection does is make sure sims don't move into an inadequate house it doesn't mean that sims will still move into an inadequate house

@ Tangie: Yeah, I also hate when a rich sim with a mansion moves into their spouse's crappy house. I have a few questions though: in your game, did Jon Lessen live by himself before he moved in with her? And also, were all of the original Sims (Skip, Trigger, etc.) in Ruby's household or had some of them moved out before Jon moved in?

For those of you who have married couples that do move in together without buying a new house, do you have your Household and Lots settings at default?

Also, I have the mover mod. That only matters for manually moving Sims in Edit Town, correct? That has nothing to do with this?

Sorry, just saw your question! Yes, Jon Lessen was living in his mansion alone (except with his cat). He and his cat moved in with Ruby and her family. (rolls eyes again just thinking about it). But Jon's house just has the one bedroom so I can kind of see the logic of moving him in with her family. The three trailers there have many more beds plus a crib.

Trigger Broke was the only sim in that household to have already moved out, some time before Jon and his cat moved in (but I wasn't paying that much attention so have no idea of the exact time that had passed with Trigger moving out etc.).

Ok, thanks! I'm trying to figure out why this works in some people's game but not in mine. What are your general SP household and lot settings?

I'll have to check; hope to play a bit later this afternoon/evening and I'll look. But as I said, in another game I had to manually move a sim in with his wife and dog because the game never did it. I kept getting messages that they couldn't find a suitable house - maybe the game was looking for more beds and a crib? I don't know but if I had inspection on this could have been the case.

Under SP/General/Households I have Broken Home Move = False; Manage Homeless = True; Room to leave =1
Under SP/General/Lots I have Options:Inspections - Rigorous Home Inspection = False; Prompt on Fail = False.

So I don't know why my sims still don't move in with their spouse when they get married.

Most of my sims move in together , depending on the town. Have you set up affordable housing for them? In other words cheap housing with cribs, ext.! I have found even my rich sims first move into to che

OK, I have a cat from hell, who get's mad when I don't pay attention to her. So, my interrupted responses are her telling me to get OFF the computer!
Anyways, as I tried to say (before the "Queen" interfered) , I have had few games without married moving in together. I make sure there a lot of CHEAP homes with 2 bedrooms with a crib and a bunk bed! Price way below §20,000! Many move in, and then later move out (often within days to a bigger house).

Lol I hope everything is okay MoMoll. I have affordable housing in the town and I have had married Sims move into new affordable houses. The thing is, I don't want them to do that. Not only do I plan to use the low-cost housing in my town for immigrant families I plan to move in, but I also don't like it when Sims borrow a lot of money to move into a new house when their old house was just fine. All I want is for the husband to join the wife's household or for the wife to join the husband's household. No new house in the picture.

@ littlelambsy: your settings are exactly the same as mine. I'm wondering if having Broken Home Move set to false has anything to do with this.
