Without looking at the code here or even being qualified to do a proper analysis of it, I think I can guess what's going on.

Big Problem Number One with the unmodded Bistro store set is that the waiter/chefs kept quitting and/or wandering away for many players every few minutes, thus making the venue unusable even if you just wanted a place to have dinner rather than run a business. It sounds like Ani might have isolated that problem to the waiter roles only and stuffed the mod full of code that keeps the waiter-onlies at their stations by teleporting them back in whenever they try to wander away and keeping their motives maxed out all throughout their shift. Either that or Register is covering those sims since that's pretty much how other Role Sims are kept at work currently.

Perhaps it's best to not use our own sims as waiters?

She was just fine as only a waiter. It was when I made her a chef that was the problem.

Another issue I found was making my Sim the chef reset her cooking skill. She had almost had one cooking skill, but when she went to cook at home again, the bar was at 0.

Sorry, I must have got that chef/waiter thing backwards. And yes, the cooking skill glitch does sound familiar.

But again, wouldn't it be simpler to hire up some NPCs or resident sims from around town who don't seem to be doing much else into those roles for now? Your owners could spend their time playing hosts, chatting up the customers, buying them drinks at the bar (LN bar, of course), inviting their friends over to the lot for a meal, etc.

Or maybe that is that totally not the type of experience you were looking for -- this venue still has potential and I'm sure that issues like this will be addressed by coders when they are able to take such a project on. So keep the reports coming and we'll eventually update the list of things to be looked at when the time comes. :)

Lol! Yeah, I had my Sim working there as part of my story for her. I tend to play with stories to hold my interest in the game. It kind of works out because it was helping me find the glitches.

It definitely works out fine on the customer side as my Sim would stick around after her shift to grab some dinner. I agree that it does have potential. It'll be no problem to keep NPCs hired on, but for now my Sim has to move on to a real job. I'll definitely report back any problems that I continue running into when I get back to playing it later on.

Hello. Me again.

Is there any maintenance still being done on this mod or has it pretty much been abandoned? I've started playing with this mod again after a pretty long break from the Sims. These same exact glitches remain, and I've even come across new ones.

I just want to know because I don't feel it necessary to keep this mod in my game if it isn't being maintained anymore.

The fact that Ani herself stated several times that this was a very difficult mod to work with aside for the moment, there hasn't been much development on most fronts for the past couple of months due to the temporary limited availability of our lead developer. You are free to be patient until our staffing is such that the newer to our collection mods such as this one can move forward again. And, in the meantime, providing an organized list of the glitches that remain plus the newly discovered ones together with an acknowledgement that you are now using v2 of this mod that was released in May of this year might be helpful.

Or you are free to remove it from your game if it just isn't working well for you in its current state, as you wish.

Just a gentle reminder and perhaps you didn't mean it this way, but bug reports and features seemingly left out are still valuable. Threads that express impatience not so much and those tend to get locked.

I don't mean to be rude, but this was originally posted almost a year ago. I do realize that there are other mods in addition to this one that need to worked on and updated, but the inactivity made me wonder if it was still in the works. I wouldn't say I'm being impatient, just curious about a mod that I'm interested in.

There are issues with NRaas mods on the official "noted" lists that I have waited years to get addressed and for some am still waiting, going far back into the Twallan regime. Before the current temporary stall, I would say that NRaas related updates already in the pipeline had to take priority over the Ani collection although our developer expressed enthusiasm over working with Ani's mods in due course.

I apologize if my reaction seemed too harsh, but these things do take time and again, we did have a new version released since then. So, has the list of issues being reported here shifted at all or is it still essentially the same as it was in the beginning of this thread before v2 was released?
