Business as Unusual vs. Register

Post by jjonewell » April 13th, 2017, 4:53 pm

When I assign sims to the Bistro oven as chef or waiter, Register will reassign them to some other object. How do I stop this?

In theory we should be able to stop that by giving them the Retired designation. But that doesn't always work. It's been a while since I've worked with Bistro staff, but I believe I've had success with using MC to give them the Unemployed placeholder "career" (no hours, no pay, no advancement) from the Careers mod Unemployed add-on module and disallowing Find Job with SP. Since the game then sees them as "employed" (sort of), they shouldn't be eligible to pick up a new Role Sim position.

Just to annoy us, they will probably then all become Showtime street performers instead which SP doesn't seem to have as much control over. :)

Lol. True enough. I did make them unemployed. I used MC-intermediate-career-choose job-unemployed city hall.

For my diner and bistro staff working ani's business as usual oven, I gave them all the homemaker career. So when they weren't on shift at work they kept their house clean and got subsidized by they city (after all, they don't make much working the oven). That stopped them from getting other jobs either by themselves or being assigned through the game.

Should have mentioned that some I gave the self-employed painter, angler etc. That also stopped them from being re placed.

Great idea! I'd love a self-employed career that was like "social services recipient" or something like that for my low income sims.

I often give my mental sims (insane, neurotic, unstable etc) the Homemaker career and just assume they're not able to work and get a "disability" payment from the government. Same could apply to single parent sims. You could even stretch it to Couch potato, coward and commitment issues sims, seeing as they're probably to lazy, scared or just can't hold a job LOL
