Every so often my Tablet 5000 stops working and i know my ccmerged file has taken a crap again.

I downloaded a new one from here and copy it over mine and it works again. You may have a similar issue since the chicken coop is premium store content.

I've run into this issue before too with EA lots and sometimes custom lots. What I do is edit the lot and put a pink tile in the women's bathroom and a blue tile in the men's bathroom, then I always know which is which with the walls down.

Yes, unfortunately its part of the game, they don't want to do anything if their mood is too low. I've been frustrated by that too. Sometimes you can have them take a bubble bath, or a nap, or something fun to raise their mood enough to go to the hospital.

I've never used "clean up the homeless" as I think its too involved. Why would you want to remove the default sims from a town?

The red flag here is the statement that you've had townies die of accidental deaths. IIRC that's just not something that happens in a standard unmodded game, there aren't any EA scenarios that can kill a townie or NPC besides old age. What about deaths by jelly bean, or murphy bed, or vending machi...

I've seen Igazor mention before that this is likely caused by Onedrive caching the Documents folder online in it's cloud, which interferes with Sims3's ability to save and load it. Try disabling Onedrive and see if that works.

Assuming your sim has level 6 in the instrument skill? And is in a good romantic mood?
