After using the Moveobjects on cheat on a sim, teleport the sim to somewhere on the lot and the sim will be reconnected to the "grid", or you will have problems like that. I don't think deleting and replacing the stairs would help, and moving the sim out and back again is an unnecessary hassle.

I've been watching videos and browsing for a couple of hours now with no freezes, so maybe re-instaling the sound card drivers did the trick. Knock on wood.

If you have used the Moveobjects cheat on a sim, maybe for posing ot whatever, when you are done with that, shift-click somewhere on the ground and teleport the sim there. Then the routing will go back to normal.

If you have the sim placed on an OMSP, take it off it first and then teleport the sim.

Yes, they can do that, and I have seen worse examples.
