Not able to install MC Cheats add-on module

Post by AspieDOLPHIN » August 19th, 2019, 9:30 am

Hi,

I've been trying to install MasterController for some days now. I've read several help forums on here, which all say I need the 'add-on' module. However, I am unable to install this add on and successfully run my game as whenever it is installed, my game crashes within minutes of opening. I know I need the add on module to use MC to max skill levels which is what I am trying to do in my game.

Is there a way around this?

Not able to install MC Cheats add-on module

Hi there. That's certainly not typical behavior with the add-on in place so let's check on a few things.

Do you have the current version of the MC base mod in addition to the MC Cheats add-on module? You may want to try re-downloading both the MC base mod and the MC Cheats module in case something went wrong and you got a damaged download of either one or if it's possible that your MC base mod is outdated. Just to clarify, you do need both files for this to work.

Do you also have the MC Progression module in play? This one requires both the MC base mod AND the StoryProgression base mod or else the game will crash on startup every time.

Have you cleared (deleted) your scriptCache.package file (it will show as just scriptCache if you have your operating system set to hide extensions, but it's the same file) since trying to add the module? This is one of five cache files on the top level of your TS3 user game folder in Documents that should be cleared (deleted) on a regular basis, but certainly whenever the contents of Mods\Packages changes in any way.

What is the source of your game install and which patch level are your on? Would that be Origin/1.69, Steam/1.67, retail store disc, some other source (which one)? And are you on Windows or Mac?
