I downloaded mastercontroller, MC Cheats and MC Progression and my game wont open. I play on a laptop with windows 10, my game version is 1.69.43 and i downloaded the compatible versions of the mods, and even followed the "how to install" guide to make sure i was installing in the right folders. My game will start and load through the "university" screen and crash before it brings me into the homepage to select my last saved game. I dont have all the expansions or packs, if thats an issue. Uninstalling the mod and deleting it will make my game load and work correctly but when i install it again the game crashes again. I really want to be able to play with this mod

The MC Progression add-on module is designed to be a bridge between the MasterController base mod (which you have) and the StoryProgression base mod (which you do not). If SP is missing, it will crash the game on startup every time, and it wouldn't have anything to do in the game anyway. The solution is to remove MC Progression or add SP, whichever way you wanted to go with progression.

ohh ok, so i need MC Progression AND Storyprogression for it to work? or is it one OR the other? Sorry, im new to adding mods like this and im a little confused haha

MasterController is a player command center and offers an optional CAS replacement. It sits back and does nothing after the game has started up, waiting for the player to maybe someday choose a command to run -- come here, go over there, become this, stop being that, wear this, reset yourself, run this report for me. MC does not (generally) affect gameplay on its own just by being present.

StoryProgression is a replacement for EA's built-in story progression system. Its purview is to set guidelines for all sims' behavior and to push sims around (meaning the not actively controlled town residents mostly) to move forward with their lives, careers, relationships, families, etc. in an orderly manner...or, as per its options, a more chaotic manner if that's what the player wants. Its various SP Managers are always running when SP is in control of progression, making things happen to the world around your actively being played sims.

MC Progression is a bridge between the two. It adds some commands to MC that wouldn't otherwise be possible, but it doesn't make progression happen on its own and can't function (will crash the game) if SP is missing.

So the answer is, it depends on what the player wants. If you want a player controlled command center only, then you do not want the MC Progression module. If you want both the player controlled command center AND the story progression replacement, then you need both MC and SP base mods and then MC Progression becomes a handy add-on to also have.
