Filter no degree shows sims who has one

Post by C-Dark » October 7th, 2018, 8:50 am

Hey I used now the filter to go to sims, YA, who have no degrees and my active household sims are in the list even they have a degree.
F.i. one has: Art 12 from 48 points.

So is there only a specific point degree meant?

The Degreeless sim filter means has no completed degrees, meaning they have not completed a course of study, graduated, and received their degree. Not sims that have no progress (credits) towards one. It was probably not envisioned that a filter to sims who have a total of zero academic credits would be useful. Actually, I'm having trouble thinking up a use for that myself, but anyway I don't think this has ever been asked for before.

Filter no degree shows sims who has one

Well I have a Caste where I needed this filter. I have a homeworld uni and all my YA go to university (the ones with no degree, find job true) and when they finish, I have a caste YA have gegree, findjob FALSE.

So it seems this cannot work?
Can you explain more precisely what the option means? My sim has a 12 point degree not zero.

Your sim does not have a degree, they have a course of study sometimes referred to as a major. I think we are having a slight language  barrier here.

Let's say in real life I enroll in University. There is a 120 credit requirement to graduate with a degree. I have 119 credits; I am not a graduate and I do not have a degree. I have 125 credits but my final semester is not over yet and I have not yet graduated but will expect to do so in a few months. I still do not have have a degree. I have 140 credits and as far as I am concerned am finished with classes, but the Uni Academics office has decided that I forgot to take a required course along the way or I failed to pay my tuition. I still do not have a degree.

A degree is that which is granted upon the completion of a course of study and graduation.

I think you might need to redo the logic behind that caste definition or else (if I am understanding this correctly) sims with 12 academic credits will be treated differently from sims with 0 academic credits. Or maybe I'm just not correclty undertanding the point of the caste myself.

Hm, no not exactly, in the caste there is no option for setting the academic credits, only has degree and which, ok, I think I mus set it differently, I wanted to set YA who graduated from Uni to NOT FIND JOB, because I give them manually - otherwise I would have to change most, because the game distributes jobs not so good.

Is there a filter option for "graduated" maybe (I cannot find any) ?
If not please, add such filter for has and has not ;-)

The positive filter is there in the same place as the negative one, under Type of Sim (And/Or). It is called Has Completed Degree. Still not what you require?

(Of course, if you are in a world that has no sims with completed degrees yet, that filter just won't show up; maybe this is the problem?)

Yeah I understand now, but unfortunately my sims have no completed degree - so only graduated.
How can I filter for that?

If you mean that the Has Completed Degree filter is not showing because right now your world has no sims who fulfill that requirement, and you need it to show, how about if you use DE to grant one sim in town, or even one sim in a Traveler mod connected foreign world, whom you might not care about very much a fully completed degree? That should make the filter show up again.

no of course its showing, but this option is not very helpfull because my sims do not have completed degrees.
I found that there is the option under filter "academic degree" on means the one which completed false means the one who only graduated.

For my CASTE, I need to filter who graduated and/or competed degrees from university in general. Is there a work around somehow?

If a sim has graduated university, then they have a completed degree. One confers the other, they cannot have graduated but not have a full degree. They cannot have a full degree and not have graduated. Sorry, I give up -- apparently we are having too many problems making each other understood. Maybe someone else here can spot where we are having this disconnect.  :(
