Increasing a Sim's Pension

Post by Sonshine » November 3rd, 2013, 1:56 am

Hi, I've tried looking for this. I'm pretty sure that I've seen it before, but can't seem to find it now. I have a sim that I would like to retire, but I don't like EA's version of their pension. They get almost nothing! Could somebody please point me to the instructions on how to increase it? Thanks!

Not sure, but I think what you are looking for is in SP rather than MC.

From Town Hall or any computer, NRaas > SP > General Options> Options: Careers > Options: Retirement > Maximum Per Level Active Career Pension (Default = 50).

You were right! : / I couldn't remember where to find it. :( I'll do some experimenting now to see what I want. Thanks!

Note that is correction mechanism to stop the outrageous pensions that can occur for certain sims in town, it is not a means of adjusting pension on a general basis.

Most rabbithole careers have either a static pension defined by "Careers" tuning.

Ambitions style careers have their pension calculated based on the length of time you held the career and how much you made.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood that setting's purpose then. Sounds like it would only work to cap an overly generous pension rather than help increase any of them.

I have another question related to this; is there a mod that anybody knows of that will allow my sim to collect her pension *and* have a profession? Right now, whenever I try, I'm prompted w/the fact that she needs to quit her job of "retirement" to accept any profession. :(

Review for Documentation

Some stuff in here about SP settings and pensions.

@Sonshine7---please repost your last question if you are still looking for an answer.
