Plumbots loose their looks on traveling

Post by crinrict » October 26th, 2013, 4:34 am

One report about this in the bug thread: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/ ... e#11461124

Also so it mentioned in tech.

Seems to be caused by MC

Reset on MC makes plumbots loose all their traits. Possible that there's more. Thread here: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/721301.page

I don't see how [URL=https://wwww.nraas.net/community/Master ... troller</a> would affect travel. <a class="wiki_link" href="/Traveler">Traveler</a> or <a class="wiki_link" href="/ErrorTrap">ErrorTrap</a> yes., both of those mods are directly part of transition. Perhaps <a class="wiki_link" href="/Overwatch">Overwatch</a> due to its loadup corrections, but not <a class="wiki_link" href="/MasterController]MasterController[/URL].

The hard-reset in the mod could certainly have an error in it though. I'll certainly have a look at that one. :)

I looked up the code for the trait chip deletion, and it appears EA Standard calls it whenever a sim is hibernated. Meaning it occurs whenever a homeless sim leaves town as well.

The hard-reset is essentially a hibernation process as well, so that explains the disappearing chips.

Not really sure why EA wrote it this way, but I'll change my reset process to bypass the oddity.

Thanks for the report. :)

I haven't tested anything myself and it's possible that it's other mods, it was just a report in the bug thread where someone said their plumbot looked different after transition and when they took out MC the issue was gone. (I did think it was strange though)

Trait Chip: Does this means the error will also occur on vanilla ? Does it have to be the plumbob that's hibernated or any Sim ?

Yep, I had that happen and came here to the Chatterbox, to find out if I was losing my mind. Thanks to both of you for clearing that up for me.

Seems OW is the culprit for looks resetting not MC. Makes more sense.
