Chatterbox Is installing CC as package files better than as .sims3pack?

Why won't that blasted mod show up in game? Hopefully we know!

I guess CC magic is not really for me then, but I will still use it for CC but I will be using Launcher mainly. It kind of sucks, I have Dragon Valley, Midnight Hollow, cow plant, savy seller, pea shooter, boardwalk, business as unusual bistro, bakery, Renaissance + clothes and stuff and it loads a new game in 4 minutes but when I get cow, chicken and Grandpa tractor it became 6 minutes :-( is this normal? Are those 3 items so heavy? Have you experienced this as well when you installed those items. 2 minutes extra for just 3 more items seem like too much to me.
What is the loading time for your games? New and save.

I will install new mods through downloads from now on and then move them to legacy with CC magic. Thank you for the advice.

6 minutes load time is not bad. Some people experience 20 minutes or more. The longer you play a Save the bigger it gets and the longer to load. There are ways to cut down on load times; you'll find lots of excellent suggestions here and on many other sites.

20 minutes!! That only happened when I tried to play Alpine county o. My old laptop. I don't play with very long saves but my save games load in like 2 minutes, I play with long lifespan but for very few generations. But 6 minute load time on a new game after only 3 new items? That seems like too much to me. I don't get too much CC probably that's why 6 minutes feels like a lot to me.

@SkyDome: I cannot really compare my loading times with yours as I have all my CC (including Store content) installed as package files through CC Magic and I've never bothered to see how long my games take to load. It's not possible for me to test this at the moment either but I'm inclined to agree with fxchristensen that 6 minutes isn't bad. :-)

I'd say 6 minutes is about what I'm getting too, maybe more for worlds I haven't loaded in a while, and that's with at least a gigabyte and a half of CC + decrypted Store stuff installed through CC Magic. That's with pretty fresh saves though.

If I install a CC with launcher and try to install it again by mistake with CC magic will it detect the duplicates? I downloaded most of my store content as part of a set so it gets confusing. And when I convert it to .package the files have names like 0x664567 or something which makes it hard to find duplicates.

I'm afraid it won't detect the duplicates. CC Magic has no idea what the Launcher has installed and vice versa. You can rename the package files after converting - just open the files in S3PE to find out what they are. Yes, it's a long, laborious task I'm afraid but I don't know of any other way. Maybe somebody else will have other suggestions. :-)
