Date auto grouping!!

Post by JohnL83 » September 21st, 2019, 9:47 pm

I can't get the darn thing to STOP auto grouping my adults into a romantic date when they go out with the family! I have auto grouping in Go Here set to True. I take that to mean it will NOT auto group, right? It says, "Disable auto Grouping" --- True

Normally this would not bug me that much if it were not for the fact that children get left out all the time if the adults are on a date! I was able to send my family of 6 to the movies, Mom, Dad, and 4 children. Fine, but then the hearts were on mom and dad's portrait panel so that when I tried to send them all out to eat after the movie it would NOT take the kids! I then had to click, click, click, click, just to get the date ended. (for some reason I often have trouble getting the "end date" option to show without clicking a dozen times!)
Anyway, until I ended the date the children kept getting left outside while the parents went in to eat. I didn't know this was a thing really but deduced this after 3 tries of attempting to get the parents to take the kids out to eat with them! What does EA have a against family outings anyway??? It's like pulling teeth to get sims to group up with their children! God forbid you even go out with a group of friends and two of them are romantically involved. Okay EA we get it! Sims only want to be on dates! Sheesh!

Ranting aside here, I thought Go Here was supposed to stop a lot of this behavior and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the conflict here could be?

Date auto grouping!!

The GoHere setting mentioned will prevent the auto group-ups specifically when the Go Here With (and Invite Over) commands are used. If you are using other commands, though I am not sure what the complete list would be at the moment, then the mod doesn't have a say in the matter. A date is really just a group-up when only two eligible sims are involved and they happen to be Romantic Interests or partnered.

Once you get all of the sims on the destination lot one way or another, Have a Meal With or whatever the other possible activities are like See a Move With, Tour the Lot With, etc., should still be possible.

Ending a date or group-up, including one that never should have formed in the first place, should be possible by right-clicking (or some kind of clicking, can't remember which one right now) on the date or group-up icon on the portrait panel on the left side of the screen.

Children and younger cannot be part of group-ups. Yes, we hate that, it makes no sense especially for families, but it is what it is. But an intended group of two adults and three children only has two eligible sims in it because the children do not "count."
